Just rewatched Cotto vs. Margarito 2

The NYCAC did everything in its power to stop Tony Margarito beating Cotto AGAIN. The left it until he was in the crucial stages of training & made him break training and travel across the country to let NY docs examine his eye to see if he was fit to fight they claimed. Sick part is they'd already sanctioned the fight and it was signed & sealed. Was just another ploy to disrupt Margarito's training. What was done to Tony Margarito was nothing less than criminal:fire:fire

 

Yet being found with an illegal pad in your handwraps isn't criminal. OK.

 

I think the commission was genuinely concerned about Margarito's health before that fight. It may have been more out of a concern about their own reputation if anything bad happened to Margarito but they really didn't want that fight to happen in N.Y.

 

I don't need to prove the obvious, all it takes is common sense. If Concreto loaded up for Mosley, who was widely and generally considered a tune-up, then guess what he would do against Cotto who's also a Puerto Rican(everyone knows about the Mexican-Puerto Rican feud in Boxing) in Concreto's biggest fight ever and publicly promoted as his last chance at stardom?. In addition to all of that, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., a fighter Concreto idolizes, was known to be in attendance. There was enough evidence that got Concreto suspended and his trainer banned permanently. I assure you they won't ban someone permanently if there wasn't enough proof.

Now about the rematch. Concreto was warned about shots to the eyes and this fight was somehow condemned right when it was signed due to Concreto's serious eye injury after the Pacquiao fight. Arum took some serious heat down under for making this rematch and risking the cheating scumbag's very life. Concreto knew going in to this fight that a doctor will be ringside to examine his eye as closely as possible to avoid serious injuries. The commission got enough heat already for allowing this fight to go on and if Concreto left half blind or even starched dead, the commission would have to deal with a hailstorm of criticism and they really can't afford to do so after already accepting this fight. Concreto and his team knew that eyes will be on him closely throughout the fight due to this very obvious reason. If his injury wasn't serious enough he wouldn't have retired to this day when it's well-known that he needs money more than ever due to the damages his fellow scumbag wife caused to his life. I'm really not surprised he's being flushed down the toilet, a cheater never goes far.

 

I could have accepted the fight being stopped in rounds 3 or 4 to save more damage to his eye but to allow him to go 7 more rounds with a severely damaged eye then stop the fight when he was coming on was blatant corruption
Yes you are right Javier Capetillo did indeed accidently put a used gauze pad in Tonys wrap instead of a new one. But the pad he put in was deemed harmless by the lab that tested it. It was in no way an illegal attempt to load gloves to gain an advantage. If those pads were anything but harmless do you think the CSAC would have " MISLAID" them????
If Tony had loaded his gloves I'd be one of the first to condemn him and lobby for his being banned permanently from the sport.
I was present at the hearing when Tony asked for his licence to be reinstated & personally saw the embarrassment on the faces of the CSAC board when they were asked to produce the "tainted" wraps by Tony's rep
Stuttering & Muttering they claimed to have MISLAID thematschatsch
How convenient huh Get real man this was a witch hunt from day one

 

A technically illegal pad that Tony knew nothing about that was found to be totally harmless

If they didn't want toallow the fight then why did they sanction it ??

 

I agree that that is a bit of a double standard.

 

That's not true Shane Mosely is a self confessed cheater using PED's when he beat Oscar & was absolutely roided to the gills against Margarito.
What were his penalties. Same with Klitschko he's a proven juicer along with a lot more Theyre talked about being inducted into the HOF !!!

Simple, money. Arum was threatening to move the fight to who knows where. I believe they allowed the fight with the knowledge that the ref would stop the fight if Margarito's eye started to take a lot of damage.

 

You say there was enough proof to ban Catetillo for life & Tony for 2 years right?? Then where is it?? Why hasn't it been produced?? The CSAC have absolutely no proof ot they would have indicted Margarito & Capetillo
They would be laughed out of court and they know it

 

Fair enough had that happened but it didn't Margarito was blind in that eye from round 2 The ref never even stopped the fight till round nine neither did the doc. I guess Margarito's eye got suddenly worse when he was beating his chest at the dejected looking Cotto

 

I don't how good that eye was even before the fight started. Margarito entered the ring with one eye looking straight ahead and the other eye looking to the side. That fight never should have been sanctioned in the first place. Arum was cashing out Margarito and the NYAC went along with it.

 

Maybe that's true but that doesn't alter the fact that the ref nor the commission were bothered about Tony's eye till he started to come on & cotto started to wilt again
