you need a world class trainer against Pacquiao. Whatever the guy's name (insert Cotto's trainer) wasn't and isn't gonna cut it.

Very true...He's a natural lefty, so those left hooks and jabs are something vicious just like Hoya..

I only really watch the first 5 rounds.... it is a good fight in those rounds and i cant be bothered to watch cotto get destroyed later on.

Cotto was doing great in the first round, but fell into wanting to play the bully and bigger man and started trying to trade with Pac.... Pac impressed me that fight more then he has any other fight, i think Pacs ring IQ is a bit underrated, at least it was to me.... pac does everything well in that fight just about.

cotto's early punches i think did bother pac, especially his jabs. he lost some pop on his punches after the 2 KDs.

His jab bothered Pac, but i don't think the shots on the ropes did at all.

pac did the noughties version of the rope a dope. he lay on the ropes so he could see how much power miguel had then took his game into play. pac is one very clever fighter, as well as a ****ing hard man to deal with. its simple stuff to work out, manny is one helluver fighter but in hinsight he makes it look so ****in easy. its like when you watch a brue lee film and all off a sudden you think your a damd ninja.. thing is, he is a great and people need to ralise this before he is gone.

I watched agen last week and was even more impressed with pac the second time round. He was exceptional but is still able to be hit.

thing is that was basically before pacquaio unleashed

look at pacquaio's style, he rests for the first half of the round most of the time, then wins the round in the 2nd half, its clever as judges will tend to remember to most recent event

i watched that fight 6 times, first time i was like yeah pacquaio did good, but after you re watch, you see pacquaio out classed him in every single boxing sense in that fight. the rope bit was classic, compare the commentary between sky sports and hbo, sky sports are like yeah pacquaio must have a plan here and only a couple are actually landing.

    then he knocks him down

hbo went mad when cotto finally got to land a few punches and didnt see it coming, pacquaio tricked cotto to put his guard down and then finished him in that round imo

cotto realised no matter what he did, even if pacquaio was standing still, he couldnt do anything to him

You're mighty defensive...you put "no homo" in there...why? Who's gonna think you're a homo just because you was upset your boy lost? Anyway...yep, Cotto got his ass beat. Cheers.

When i watched it live, I was getting flashbacks of the Ali-Foreman fight, but it was not like the RopeADope which tired Foreman out. I think Pac just used Cotto's agression against him. Cotto got frustrated after the pounding he gave Pac on the ropes with no results.

Cotto has not been the same since the beat down by the plaster master. Not to take anything away from pac, but Cotto looked shell shocked against Clottey as well. He would have lost that fight if Clottey let his hands go but clottey ended up giving that fight away. I was so glad that A$$hole Margocheater is not on pacs under card because he shortened the career of a great fighter.

true, but can anyone not let pac hit him? i really dont think with the speed, movement put together with the angle and combo hits any defence can stop that. i truly believe the only way to beat pacquaio is fire with fire

pacquaio can be hit but how can a defensive fighter take advantage of that (one of the more reasons roach preferred floyd to shane when deciding on his next fight imo)
