Where's the credit for Cotto doing what he did in the first round? He was boxing effectively and I'm sure had Roach a bit nervous. I think when Cotto's aggression took over he started going downhill. He felt that he could trade with Pac but that wasn't a smart idea. Two things I find that works well against Pac's attack is to duck his straight left and use a consistent, strong jab. When you back up his left hand will always find you since he is so fast. He doesn't really throw a jab so if you have a good one it will land quicker than his power shots. Nobody takes advantage of these things with the exception of JMM and he only does it marginally.

I was really looking forward to this fight; I wanted and thought Pacman would win in an absolute war but was a little disheartened as early as the 3rd round because it already looked like Cotto was unable to hurt Pacquiao and was growing weary of Pac's punches - the writing already seemed to be on the wall. I have to admit I was pretty amazed at how easy it seemed for Pac. He's got so damn good. And for the record I do not for one second believe he's taken any PEDs.

This all just taught me to quit betting against Pacquiao.
The man wants to win and be a legend, he is going to beat everyone up to do it.

From what I've read one of the biggest misconceptions about PEDs is that they make you bigger and stronger. While that might be the case with a few that exist, there are ones that don't create bulk. Instead they allow a fighter to train harder and longer, not to mention multiplies his stamina ten-fold. Even if he gets better through training it's still an unfair advantage because he's using a PED to do produce more than what he naturally can. That's IF he's juicing.

Not trying to stir the pot. Just throwing out info for those who would like to know.

We were discussing it in this and the other topic. The jab was not working on Pacquiao as many people thought it did. If you notice from Round 2 onward, Pac figures out Cotto's jab (both when Cotto tries to use it offensively or defensively), and is able to beat it with both straight lefts and right hooks. Once Cotto no longer had confidence in his jab (Round 7 and onward), Pac didn't even really bother to counter it anymore and instead walked through them.

As for JMM, his success against Manny's left was his own straight right, not the jab. Pac has actually always done well against jabs, the only real exception being Morales (Pac couldn't figure it out until the second fight when he started throwing counter right hooks and front-handed uppercuts underneath the jab).
