There was a lot of confusion at first when the fight ended. While Cole ruled it a DQ pretty quickly, the fans in attendence didn't know that and were waiting anxiously to here what was going on. Plus, there was a lot of concern over the condition of Dirrell.

It's a good thing that they didn't play AA's comments about Dirrell being a good actor over the loud speakers, because it could have gotten ugly in there. As it was, it did clear out quickly once the decision was announced and they took Dirrell to the dressing room.

Lots of Armenian fans were there last night, and they are a vocal bunch. It was a good atmosphere overall.

Yeah. Fans in attendance get robbed a bit on an ending like that. No real chance for the home town guy to get the fans adulation and vice versa. Thanks for the report.

I wanted Dirrell to win in style and he almost did. But then then context revealed a truely corrupt referree and then Abraham got frustrated and threw a punch which he should be DQed for...

Not the way I wanted this to go.

Cole overlooked low blows. Cole overlooked a headbutt, unintentional, but not punch, headbutt. Cole over looked a legit knockout.

Dirrell was ready to be knocked out. His head was clear, he looked at his corner, then stated acting, he had to, he could not go on anyway. He should move to Hollywood.

I agree with everything said, but what about the SECOND KD of AA in round 7?!? The only thing that kept AA up was the ropes!

AA could have gotten the KD. The feet were tangled up, but AD was way too unwilling to engage for that not to be a real flash KD. You can't see that at the moment of the shot though. I actually think he got another flash KD earlier when AD was hit, ducked low to clench, and fell forward.

The DQ was solid. It was obvious he was shaking and baking side to side and slid down onto his butt on the corner decal. In AA's defense, he did throw a solid jab as he slid down.

AD put on a clinic, but I would like to see a rematch.

I said that the second KD looked like a cup/push from the angle I saw and that it wasn't clear from that angle. That is the only reason I could think of that it wasn't called a KD. They needed a better ref to sort things out. I think a competent ref would have made us all feel better about the way things went.
