It's just insane how a bar brawler was able to beat a skilled boxer twice. That fourth round where he was daring Forrest to hit him was just madness, he took Forrest's soul and made him realize that he couldn't hurt him. Definitely Forrest's nightmare. (RIP)

It was such an unusual contrast of styles. I think the decision was fair, but it was a high drama fight and both guys had good moments. Forrest was a fantastic boxer, RIP. mayorga, i still think even now gives cotto trouble early based on nothing but the fact that he has trouble everyone he has fought early in the fight against superior skilled and conditioned boxers. Mayorga is tough as nails and knows how to fight hard. He also had better skills than he got credit for.

Mayorga got blasted by Tito and Oscar but gave SSM hell. Vargas got blasted by Tito and Oscar but gave SSM Hell. SSM is really not the fighter he is given credit for. Pac is gonna blast his ass out and make FMJ look BAD AGAIN. That was FMJ's biggest win........a SHOT overrated SSM..........GOAT???? LMAO

  7. Mayorga was such a ****ing beast at 147... His skills may not have been first class, but as we all know, skills alone don't make a champion. Mayorga had other assets that elevated his game way beyond other supremely gifted athletes. These include brutal power, fast feet, good reflexes, tremendous chin, unquestionable heart, and HUGE BALLS. The kind of balls you bow down before. The kind of balls that will beat many top opponents of today into submission.

After he was robbed against Spinks, Mayorga lost his passion for boxing. What a shame.

Nope...look at the weight for those fights. Shane is not the same fighter above 147. It won't be a blowout, and Shane actually might get the KO.

Vargas gave both Oscar and Trinidad hell for extended periods of the fight. Mayorga gave Tito a certain amount of trouble to begin win. We could also compare how Shane did in his two outings with Winky Wright to the outing Trinidad had with Winky Wright.

Shane was a great fighter, ranking around Morales and Barrera in my book.

Are you retarted ? Vargas gave Tito and Oscar more hell then he ever gave Mosley in 16 rounds of fighting. Vargas dropped Tito with a beautiful left hook, hurt him another time in the fight and every time he had serious momentum things got so bad for Tito that he had to resort to intentional low blows to bail his ass out. Hell take away the 1st round its basically dead even going to the 12th and ill say this if Vargas doesnt have his hips, things and nuts destroyed he probably wins that fight. As for DLH agian you cleary never seen the fight the fight was 5-5 on alot of scorecards infact one judge even had Vargas ahead going into the 11th. Going into the Championship rounds the fight was on the table. Mayorga gave hell to Mosley but Vargas didnt to Tito or Oscar ? :huh Mayorga got blown out and knocked clean the **** out vs Mosley atleast he could get back to his feet vs Tito and Oscar.

Awesome fight to bring up :good

This fight solidified (imo) that Mayorga wasn't just a lucky punch belt holder, and that he was true danger to any type of fighter.

Rewatching now, will post my scorecard up shortly.

    Mayorga at 147 = Beast.

Wish he would have lasted longer at the weight....

Cant wait for the press cons with Cotto. The fight should be entertaining while it lasts, but Mayorga is a merely a shadow of what he is in the Forrest fights now.
