I thought the fight could of gone either way, but out of the 2 reports I read on the fight in The Ring Magazine and Boxing News, both had Froch a winner. Froch does deserve credit for all the negative press he gets on this site. Out of his last 4 fights 3 were against undefeated fighters, one of which is now WBC LHW Champ. His 1st defence of his title was away, and his next defence is away again to Kessler. Like him or hate him thats good form.

boxing isn't all about skills, it obviously makes you a better boxer, but he's the type of fighter that gets by with a great chin, good power and a great mindset. and he seems to be doing ok and is still undefeated. he beat pascal who's a good fighter with skills and now a lhw champ, he then went to the US for his first defence and beat taylor who's a good boxer, the dirrel fight was a stinker, but look at the pascal fight for an exciting fight when his opponent is prepared to actually fight and not run.
Here is a list of fouls from the NSAC, which most boxing commissions follow: 1. Hitting below the belt. 2. Hitting an opponent who is down or is getting up after being down. 3. Holding an opponent with one hand and hitting with the other. 4. Holding or deliberately maintaining a clinch. 5. Wrestling or kicking. 6. If the referee has signaled that the opponent has been knocked out, striking an opponent who is helpless as a result of previous blows and so supported by the ropes that he does not fall. 7. Butting with the head or shoulder or using the knee. 8. Hitting with the open glove, the butt of the hand, the wrist or the elbow, and all backhand blows. 9. Purposely going down without being hit. 10. Striking deliberately at that part of the body over the kidneys. 11. Deliberately using the rabbit punch. 12. Jabbing the opponentÂ’s eyes with the thumb of the glove. 13. Using abusive language in the ring. 14. Engaging in any unsportsmanlike trick or action which causes injury to an opponent. 15. Hitting on the break. 16. Hitting after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat. 17. Hitting an opponent whose head is between and outside of the ropes. 18. Pushing an opponent about the ring or into the ropes.' Show me anything in there about ducking below the waist.
Froch/Direll was the worst excuse for a "world title" fight I can remember. The highlight of the night came when Tarver call Froch, "Carl Crotch!"
I had Dirrell winning close, but I could see it either way. I don't think either guy can really say that they won clearly. And yes, Dirrell was bitching up with the holding. Froch was hitting on the break and behind the head. Either way, I had Dirrell winning 115-113.
Froch and Dirrell have something serious in common. Neither of them will win another fight in this tournament.
The only reason I'd watch that fight again is to get to see that dish that Froch walks around with......hubba hubba.:admin
With point deduction, I think I scored it 115-114 For Froch with two drawn rounds. I thought the deduction was wrong, but have factored it in. A lot of this goes down to the scoring method employed in boxing. Th fight leaves no doubt that Dirrell is the superior boxer, particularly in the championship rounds. But under the scoring system, I think it can be argued without any real controversy that it could have gone either way. Much like Calzaghe Hopkins - Calzaghe definitely won that fight, but I reckon BHop would win a rematch as he showed flashes of superiority. Same with Froch-Dirrell, only more so. Another example: Haye was totally dominant in terms of skill and style vs Valuev, but the nature of that scoring systems meant that Valuev nicked a few rounds, making the scorecards closer than the fight really was. I really think boxing could be revived by an improved scoring system, though I can't admit to having any particularly fantastic alternatives.
