Everybody thought he quit, and while it wasn't a Victor Ortiz, he still gave up simply via the fact that he was almost beaten into a comatose vegetative state... He could barely stay awake let alone fight on.. but that is BECAUSE of Benn and his sheer viscious power, McClelans brain was basically mush by the stage he took a knee, got counted out.. wobbled to his corner, then collapsed from the damage.
Ferdie and King are absolutely pointless to speak about in this. G-Man just had the brawl of a lifetime with Benn and even if he did manage to make him be counted out in the first, Benn definitely proved he was in there to prove something. He had heart and guts b'sides you can't fight a guy like Benn straight up and loading on hin standing still. Benn used every chance he had to move side to side, down load and come up with the heymakers that had Gerald's head completely shaken up inside at a certain point.
to be honest I thought the fight is way overrated but yeah, a fair referee would have stopped it when McClellan knocked him through the ropes
much respect for that Avatar relentless, whoever doesnt like it is gay. I hope someone makes an avatar bet where if i lose, i gotta wear that, lol.
There should have been a criminal investigation in that fight. Those rabbit punches were what did McLellan in. The guy is basically a vegetable now and Benn got away with it.
I bet if Benn never threw a rabbit punch they`d all say he should`ve been stopped in the first rd.They`d say anything to take the gloss off a good British fighter, except Lennox Lewis who was trained by american Manny Steward.
The shots to the back of the head don't cause the damage. It's the shots that cause cranial acceleration.
