He is massively inexperienced at the level having only reffed 3 world title fights since his first one in 1999. It just seems that someone got the local yellow pages out and stuck a pin in...obviously didn't want to pay travel or lodging expenses. I'd be surprised to see his fat arse in a championship ring again anytime soon.....outside of DC that is.
I'd watch it again then mate....in one sequence of action (7th maybe) there were 5-6 in a row that were borderline at the very best, one hit the top of Khans thigh for ****sake. All on the blindside of the ref, how coincidental is that? I absolutely agree, but its encumbent on BOTH fighters to work out, not for one to loll waiting for his opponent to push him off
Karma's a ***** ain't it, one low blow, the rest no lower than the punch Khan knocked Judah out with.
Horse****, and what the **** has Judah got to do with it? I'm talking about balanced refereeing, you are just happy that your agenda has been filled and thats sad. Not much of a fight fan are you? :-(
My boy did it, close fight though. Nobody has picked up why khan was holding have they.......the body shots were killing him and that's why he kept crying and complaining and turning away and to the side, stuff the rematch Lamont don't give the baby one.!!
:good Yep Khan wilted early from the bodyshots, Lamont fought a brave fight and took it to Khan and deserved the title IMO. Hope Lamont reigns for a long time he deserves it immensely!
The ref was dreadful. No problem with the decision as the deductions balanced a bogus kd but he was on Khans case all night and seemed to give Peterson a free pass. Also he seemed to have consireable trouble getting his fat ass out of the way of the action. Refs should have some level of physical fitness afterall. Boxercise maybe?
I thought Khan sneaked it but it was a heroic effort from Lamont and I wouldn't begrudge him his moment of glory. Decision could've gone either way.
You know the score, next week with another fighter holding and pushing will be "just part of the game". Individually tailored rule enforcement.
Yeah i remember a few being on the belt line, but I wouldn't say they were incredibly low. Like I said, I remember one low shot which Khan complained about. I don't even remember him complaining about too many more
If the fighter can get away with it it's 'sneaky' ;-) :deal Khan is just so obvious at everything he does, too thick for subtleties.
Good fight, it would have even been close without the deductions. However don't think the deduction in the 12th round was warranted, Peterson was doing his own fair share of pushing, just wasn't blatant as Khan. There was no need to take another point off for the same offence with just couple of minutes to go.
I thought khan would win comfortable by ud or late stoppage. It looked like an early stoppage would happen in the earlier rounds when he boxed brilliantly. I feel the ref didn't break up them enough, he tried to let them get on with it as much as possible but a lot of the clinches needed to be break up imo. I think the 1st point deduction was quite fair as he has been told a few times. 2nd point off was a bit harsh. I think I recalled the ref did tell peterson a couple of times to keep his head up. I think khan got the tactics wrong when he stay on the ropes and were getting hit. It was a close fight and with the points off, in peterson's backyard, I have no complain about the decision. I'm not sure why some of u are bringing up name like matt hatton for khan to fight next, what is the point? B level fighter that is a waste of time for khan. He will get a rematch with peterson in march/april in vegas. He will win it this time as he will have learnt for this fight.
