I wouldn't have a problem if they were enforced in every fight, but since they aren't Khan properly thought they were hollow warnings. Khan has no one but himself to blame for the 2nd point deduction, when you know the ref is serious about, should adjust.
Proof dickhead, or shut the **** up. Ive watched a few interveiws after the fight, and he never said a word, i may of missed it though, so proof needed dickhead
I didn't think so. I watched it this afternoon, so not even in the heat of the moment. I thought they were fine.
I thought the ref did a good job to be honest. He warned Khan then let him get away with it numerous times after that and really had no choice but to take a point. It's not like he didn't give him any leeway. Also, I liked the way he let fighters fight on the inside, fight out of the clinch, something which is very much part of the game and also the way how he let the fight flow. It was nice to see it not stopped too. Had it been in the UK it wouldn't have been beyond the realms of reality to have seen Peterson or Khan stopped at sometime in that fight quite possibly early on.
If your opponent is being allowed to charge into you head first then you should be allowed to push him off. In the theophane fight the Ref took a time out on a few occasions to give his opponent a stern warning before finally deducting a point. It is customary for the ref to warn that he will deduct points before actually doing so unless it is a blatantly dangerous offence.
But he wasn't. He wasn't using his head, if anything once he was on the inside he put it on Khan's right shoulder and dug his shots in.
Oh man close fight. It could be 113/112 either way, it depends if you think Khan deserved the deductions, which I think he did, but the last could've been 9/9 in which case Khan won, but I gave it 10/8. One or two of the rounds were close which I gave to Khan. Good fight, glad Khan lost though, he deserves it.
Khan fought a poor fight tactically and highlighted a major flaw in his armoury. He can't deal with effective pressure fighters, so opts to run or just stays static on the ropes. atsch I had NO interest in this fight before the 1st bell, went out last night so only watched it this morning and how shocked was i. Honestly thought it would be an easy UD for Khan. Firstly that was a certain FOTY candidate, but secondly after rounds 1&2, how well Petersen did to adapt his game plan and drag Khan into the trenches. Never saw it coming. Don't think Khans got the right to moan about the point deductions, the 2nd was harsh yes, but if you're getting warned and keep fouling you're obviously running the risk. Didnt think the ref was as bad as some are making out, except for the fat ******* getting in the way some times. Im happy with the result, not due to Khan losing, but more for the fact the us fans got to see a good fight (controversial verdict or not) and are guaranteed to see this fight again where next time there'll be alot more expectation towards it. Team Khan should've just took it on the chin and been respectful post fight, but Khan has to have a pop about the ref & DC without even crediting Peterson, which in my opionion showed poor form.
