Prime Mike Tyson couldn't even beat James Douglas.

    Cue the usual excuses...

I watched that fight a few nights ago, although I think Tyson would of won if he took it seriously, that night Buster did a career best performance, he was in great shape and was there to win. Unfortunately we never saw that Buster again and the fight after against Holyfield he looked like a totally different fighter.

I think Tyson really ruined a great possible second fight with that second bite. Tyson was so pissed off and shoved Holyfield after the first bite and it looked like there was about to be a war. The second bite ended the fight before it looked like it was going to be a slugfest

Prime for prime i think tyson would have beat him. Tyson was far removed from prime in that first fight....didnt set his shots up anymore...head movement was limited...punches slower. He was basically trying to slug it out with a bigger stronger stronger willed man in that fight. It might have worked because mike hit hard but tbf to holyfield he took everything mike had and then gave more back.

I dont quite buy the holyfield beat him up in sparring bit....just like lewis did etc. We,d all have been talking about them two back then...as opposed to tyson who got most of the hype of the three by a good bit.

Tyson started the 2nd fight well but reckon he knew the writing was on the wall that holyfield would just keep coming back at him all night long. The biting was the cowards way out.

But still thinknprime tyson beats prime holyfield and lewis as well...as good as they we,re.

Prime for prime, Holyfield beats Tyson, he knew all the disadvantages too Tyson’s style and really capitalized on that when they fought, I think if Holyfield was in his prime he would have beaten mike much more convincingly, also mikes head movement is overrated, it seemed amazing against lesser opponents but once he began to move up it really wasn’t that great.
