I was 14 the last time I watched the Éric Lucas-Markus Beyer fight and I remembered that it had made a lot of commotion here in Quebec, everybody thought Lucas had been robbed.

I normaly am not the one to complain who the fight goes to when it's close, but this was just ridiculous.

    Here's my scorecard :

    1 : 10-9 Lucas
    2 : 10-9 Lucas
    3 : 10-9 Lucas
    4: 10-9 Lucas
    5: 10-9 Beyer
    6: 10-9 Lucas
    7: 10-9 Lucas
    8: 10-9 Beyer
    9: 10-10
    10: 10-9 Lucas
    11: 10-9 Beyer
    12: 10-9 Lucas

    117-112 Lucas

I know some of these rounds were close, but come on man.

Oh those were the days when the robberies stayed in Germany. Nowadays it's just an occasional one there while other countries really try to make a name for themselves.

I think they still are more present in Germany, I don't see that many robberies in the US or example.

thats because your in the US, the rest of the world sees plenty of robberies in the US

robbery is very overused anyway, maybe 1 in 20 of the fights called robberies on esb are actual robberies, most are just close fights with differences of opinion depending on your location and fighter preference

I'm not from the US, but Canada.

But yeah I agree, the minute a fight is close you know you're gonna get dozens of thread screaming robberies. It's as if people are always looking for drama.

Campillo-Shumenov, Alexander-Kotelnik, Martinez-Cintron,... Robberies are common everywhere. I think Great Britain may be the least bad place for a challenger thanks to their fairly good boxing commission (compared to Germany, Spain, Italy & most American states).

Anyway, for those who want to check out the Beyer-Lucas fight, here it is:

The scorecards for this fight was a load of crap and the judges should have been beaten for their scores.

Oh they make it up with hometown referees. The Cleverly-Kuziemski stoppage was nothing short of mind****ingly outrageous. Dunno how the BBBoC does it, but all kinds of refs from all around the world end up with these BS pro-Warren stoppages, and when they actually need to stop the Warren fighther properly, THIS happens (10 minutes in):

Yep, that's true. Frank Warren's shows are generally a good place to be if you want interesting stoppages.

And a terrible, horrible place for a 'visitor'. I'd rather fight in Germany, Australia, Mexico etc.
