He made great Morales go "no mas" without his winning gloves.

He broke that biatch mentally and physically.

At least Morales never got KTFO by bums like Torrecampo and Singsurat.:rofl:hi:

or get schooled by a 38 year old jumping two weight divisions with every single physical disadvantage. :yep

The problem is that Pac wasn't actually that unpredictable in the old days. His style basically came down to the 1-2, and he just depended on his dynamite straight left to close the show. That's why Marquez was able to adjust even after being knocked down three times in one round -- he knew he was mainly getting hit by the straight left, so every time Pac threw the 1-2 Marquez dipped down to the right, ducking the left, and then popped back up and threw counters. After he neutralised that one punch the flow of the fight completely changed.

I think the new Pac is actually more unpredictable, because he has more tools. He throws the right-hook counter when people lunge in, he slips to the side and hits you with the straight left when you try to jab him, he has that powerful sort of overhand/hooking left at close range (the one that KO'd Hatton, wobbled Marquez in their second fight, and he also hit Bradley with it) and he still has his classic 1-2, which is less easy to read than it used to be.

I do think he's lost a lot of his intensity, aggression and workrate, though. He's not as explosive either. Some of that is due to age, and some of it is probably due to losing his hunger now that he's made it to the big time and is nearing retirement.

Both elements were present. Pac had noticeably improved, and Erik had noticeably declined since his prime years.

There's always a million excuses when Pac beats someone.

Pac won the trilogy and is the better fighter, end of story.

It doesn't take away from Morales.

It's not just that fights between them. Compare their entire body of work and Pac > Morales.

There are also always a million excuses when Pac loses as well. Most of those excuses are made by you too.

he wasnt shot but was past his best and weight drained, yea he was 29 but most mexican boxers start boxing very early im not sure if it was Morales or Barrera taht started fighting at 15 also you gotta think about his styly, even when he couldve dominated lesser fighters he chose to brawl with them

People nowadays think a career arc goes from "prime" to "shot." That is not the case, nor is there a typical career arc. Pac beat a good Morales in the second fight, on the downward slope from "prime" but still prior to hitting "shot."

Conversely, Manny was still on the up slope of his career arc and was slightly better than when they first fight.

Overall, they are two HOF fighters who put on a couple of good shows.

The whole Pac v Morales I and II is going to be the next age old argument, the spiritual successor of Duran v Leonard I and II

    who was shot
    who was drained
who played mindgames outside the ring
    styles
    who was "too green"

    either way, legendary fights:good
