can someone please explain to me how Canelo-Angulo is fixed? That is the same exact guy in the Lara fight. Just watch the first round. People saying where is his power? He was hitting Lara with the same type of punches. It was just magnified because Canelo was throwing back with so much force and Canelo was putting him on the backfoot instead of Angulo putting Lara on it.

The Canelo fight was over from the very 1st punch. You could tell that Angulo thought he would be the stroner fighter and the harder puncher. Canelo landed that 1st blow and it was a total shock to his system. He thought Canelo would be running from him. It was similar to Broner-Maidana. Just a shock to the system. Those first 30 seconds sapped him of his strength. People act like punches dont effect you. He was stunned & dazed. It weakened him.

Still, it isnt much different then how he looked vs Lara. Just the opponent was totally differet and a totally different style. Just watch the 1st round of each fight or even just the first 30 seconds of the Canelo fight. Also tell me that Angulo was punching much harder against Lara. He wasnt and he didnt have that heavy artillary coming back at him. Canelo's body is also much thicker than Lara's so those shots wont effect him the same

First thing Angulo said after the Lara fight, 3 days after. "When Lara hit me in the first rounds, I knew right away his punches would never hurt me". That says it all. Take not that the HEMATOMA is not what he's referring to. A Hematoma is swelling due to blood formation. Angulo would have continued to attack if it was not for the swelling. He never respected Lara's power. This is the same fighter Canelo fought. Not sure why anyone is surprised.

@dlts20 you're absolutely right. Unfortunately the haters will not listen to you. I personally thought Angulo had one hell of a shot to upset Canelo. I was wrong, Saul fought a smart exciting fight that made it extremely hard for Angulo to get anything going.

    Thanks for the post!

Haha. You guys are ******ed if you can't see the difference. F*cking look at his rotation. Against Kirkland (who blitzed him) and Lara (who moved a lot) he puts his body into the punches, but against Canelo he didn't. He looked near death.
    It's not hating it's a fact.

Just like the Anthony Joshua fight a couple weeks ago which was also fixed... he is fighting a SIX round fight against a club level dude, a type of fighter I have gone many rounds with, and I can tell you one thing... these guys ALWAYS head hunt... yet this opponent of Joshua throws NO head shots??? Why would you attack the body in a 6 round fight? It makes no f*cking sense.

you are a complete moron. angulo was beaing backed up and beaten to **** v canelo from the first 10 seconds. thats 100% the reason he looked different.

exactly the same guy, but obviously in much better shape. he took a hellasish beating and was still standing thinking about trying to throw punches. problem was while he was thinking about throwing a punch he was getting drilled endlessly.

he looked better vs kirkland and lara because they arent remotely close to canelos level. canelo is ELITE those guys are decent at best. lara is a little better then james but both have weak chins and terrrible stamina

The body attack from canelo in rd 1 and 2 really slowed the already slow angulo. Actually the body work all night from canelo was beautiful, those body shots will make you feel like you're moving in quicksand.

Angulo was never "sharp" and looked objectively less sharp for most of the fight. Seemed like he came in cold.

While I do not think it was to the degree some people claim, ie: I dont think the fight was fixed.. there was a drop off in the already questionable efficiency of his biomechanics.

Honestly what I think happened, is the Lara fight damaged him mentally. Having his eye do that in the last fight seems to have made him subconsciously hesitant and kind of "off".

Also part of it, to Canelo credit was keeping out of position for the left hook. Angulo is known as a puncher, but really his general power has never been high its his ability to catch people in exchanges with a big left hook that hurt his opponents. A top class boxer can usually take away at least one weapon from their opponents arsenal and not allow it to be used/landed effectively which is what Canelo did.

Seems to me Canelos team realized that the wide left hook was Angulos only truly effective weapon, and trained to deny that. Not being drained down to 152 improved his stamina and snap.

After pretty much every high profile fight, you'll have people on here claiming there was a robbery or that the fight was fixed.

    NO!

Against Canelo, Angulo wasn't throwing punches with the same intensity as he threw against Lara. With Canelo his body punches were like slow and soft pitty-pat punches.

Granted, he is not the fastest or most powerful puncher in the sport, but in the canelo fight he looked lethargic from the time he made his ring entrance to the fight.

When I saw him entering the ring I knew he was not the same fighter as he was in his previous fight.
I fear that Canelo was able to bounce back from his lose to Mayweather becasue mayweather doesn't physically hurt his opponent. Only their mentality is harmed.
Angulo though received tremendous physical damage against lara, and it seems he won't be able to recover from that physical damage.
