2:51. 2:28. 2:26. 2:05. 1:29 (2). 1:20. 1:09. 1:05. 1:00. :47. Looking at that round.. It looks a lot closer than I remember it. Canelo had the more telling shots in that round just not enough of them imo
2:08 definitely did not land though. Even in SD it's obvious. 2:01 not sure but it doesn't look like it landed. He does land a left hook to the body around 2:10 though.
I debated both of those shots too. Tbh... even if I conceded to him that Canelo landed the cleanest most earth shattering punch of the round...it still doesn't change the fact that GGG threw more, landed more and was the aggressor and clearly won the round...
Finished watching it. Round was close. Had GGG edging it by activity and outlanding, but could see Canelo winning too. It's really a case of how do you score volume over clean. The way round 4 played out is why I scored rounds for Jacobs over GGG too, GGG might have landed cleaner jabs, but Jacobs was landing volume though not all clean. I don't agree with people saying @shadow111 has no case for it. Now I'd like time stamps from 2 parties that timestamps EVERYTHING they thought won their guy the round.
I had GGG winning it too, but I think there's a case for Canelo. I mean some of these punches thrown by both are HARD to see if they landed, especially in this garbage quality.
A couple of shots i couldn't call if landed due to angle (Canelo back in front of the cam) but.. 2:34, 2:30, 1:52, 1:49, 1:34-1:08 (GGG had Canelo on the ropes and landed a few scoring blows in this period). 1:00, 0:47, 0:32, 0:26, 0:20 and 0:15 As i say I counted about 20 scoring blows for GGG to 10 of Canelo. That plus the fact GGG had control of the ring won him the round for me.
Yeah GGG definitely had the ring generalship. I mean obviously I'm clowning on @shadow111 but I want to be as fair as possible. I'm probably going to have to re-watch it a couple more times. I just re-watched it with @boxerfan13 timestamps in my mind and it did seem even more clear GGG to me. GGG just seemed to land far more and had control of the ring. Canelo did land more head snapping jabs though.
Ive watched this fight twice now since it happened, with no volume, just me and a notepad. When the fight finished live i had GGG 115-113 or a Draw but i could of accepted a Canelo victory by a round i beileved it was close. Now since then ive watched it twice keep in mind i have no bias in this fight at all as i like both fighters and just hoped for a good technical brawl. 2nd time watching - 116-112 GGG 3rd time watching - 115-113 GGG (Tried to be a bit more bias to Canelo in this watch aswell) Some of these rounds is a pick em about what you prefer, the pressure and aggression from GGG or the pot shots from Canelo. For me i thought Canelo fought a good tactical fight however he just wasnt active enough to win the rounds in my opinion therefore i gave the close rounds to GGG.
Tbh the case for Canelo landing the more head snapping shots is merely due to the strategy both men employed. GGG walked Canelo down and was there to be hit whereas Canelo was constantly on the backfoot and was more elusive. Doesn't mean Canelo should be winning the round, GGG clearly had the quantity and ring generalship...
Canelo landed a nice clean left hook to the body, and I think the right landed at the end. Not sure if it did. But I do think it was close, but GGG edged it. There are punches landed on both sides that I cannot see clearly, more on GGG's side tbh. If those punches even landed, then I'd give it a clear GGG.
GGG by two points at least... Watched it twice. Couple of close rounds. Most of those flashy combinations were hitting GS arms & gloves. He got walked down & out jabbed. Both neutralized each other to some extent though. More proof that two top fighters meeting doesn't automatically mean a great fight. Good fight but nothing special. Hop Calzaghe HayeKlitschko May Pac Being other examples... A woman has jus been banned from scoring major title fight's because of her score here so don't try & make a case for Canelo walking it. He lost. Competitive but he lost.
Tell that to Nigel Collins, Tom Loeffler‏, Dave Coldwell, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Terrance Crawford, AL Berstine, Dan Rafael, Paulie Malinnaggi, Riddick Bowe, Doug Fischer, Conor McGregor, Dana White, Jimmie Riviera, Robert Flores, Dan Fleyshman, Anthony Mudine, George Willis, Brian Campbell, Mark Cuban, Manny Pac, Lance Briggs, Robert Griffin III, Vladimir Tarasenko, Joey Langone, Guillermo Riggondeaux. All scored the fight clearly for GGG. They all are calling this a robbery or a terrible decision.
