Round 1 I could see 10-10. Could go either way, not much in it. Please take another look at round 4 when you re-watch it. Round 11 I'll rewatch again you said that was for G.
Can we all maybe just at least agree we saw top level fighters put on a pretty good show, if nothing else?
Blah blah blah, argue rounds, give timestamps. "aside from the odd flashy shot Canelo did very little to win the rounds." isn't a strong argument.
I'm not trolling. I really don't see how you can give Round 4 to G. He didn't land anything of note. Canelo landed the far better punches. Canelo made G miss while along the ropes beautifully. I gave credit to G where it was due. In Round 5 and 6 I gave them to G, close rounds but I thought he landed the better punches.
Tbh cbf watching the fight again. I was good with the draw. I recognize it being a close fight, and could see Canelo winning too since I didn't have GGG winning 4-9 convincingly aside from a couple rounds.
Eh. It was a good show, but not as good as I expected. I guess I'm kind of dissatisfied with how it ended. I kinda hoped one fighter would have clearly won.
Just rewatched round 4 I think we're seeing two different things? Canelo landed a few jabs and a nice body shot, but the rest was deflected or missed. Golovkin worked the jab well, pushed the pace and got Canelo on the ropes, landed a tight hook behind the head. Canelo gets off the ropes, throws some more combos that don't land. He's back on the ropes, Golovkin loads a few into his arms and gloves, puts about 4 jabs into canelos face in quick succession, two sneaky body shots getting in. GGG working the jab some more. That's all that really happened. I'd score the round to GGG. Had Canelo on the ropes. Landed some tight sneaky punches and had the jab working all round while having Canelo against the ropes and throwing some flashy but ineffective combos that were nearly all caught or missed. Canelo did some neat defence work but the effective aggression was GGG here.
It takes eyes and brains/actual knowledge to properly judge a fight. You Golovkin fans have eyes alright, but not so much for knowledge or brains.
I'm the child? Says the person calling people names yet can't break down the rounds. For the record I had the same rounds as you, besides round 1 which I gave it an even round. But at the same time I recognize 1 and some rounds between 4-9 could have gone to Canelo and were not dominating GGG rounds.
Yeah and he also broke down why 114-114 was a legit score for Canelo against Mayweather in the past. Wanna argue that one too? This poster is delusional, there's nothing to argue here.
Oh ****, was that him? LOL. **** I feel dumb for defending him now. But honestly, I do think it was a close fight.
Wrong, I've never argued that score was legit, I've only challenged those who stated that it was a 12-0 or 11-1 Mayweather shutout by going over specific rounds that could be scored for Canelo.
I agree on that point. I think anyone expecting a flat out war was kidding themselves though. I had a funny feeling about the scoring and managed to cop the draw at 20\1, so although I disagree with the result I came to terms with it pretty quick haha
