The whole "PUnch resistnace" is BULL ****! No disrespect. But Mayorga still has a great chin. He just wasn't superman and moving up in weight is NOT something everyone can do. His move up in weight...facing larger men with just as much power or more caused him to get KO'd...not his punch resistance. He ate plenty of shots from Shane before getting caught beautifully with that hook.....DLH landed the perfect hook and Mayorga at his very best was a WW..not a Super WW or a MW. He hit his wall at 147 where if dedicated he should have stayed. But absolutely a GREAT fight....one that Mayorga could have won if he didn't get so STUPID and trigger happy. He was simply outclassed by Tito.
Mayorga believe that he had a super chin because he was able to eat bombs from Forrest but Tito ended that belief fast. Good fight that I'll rewatch before this day is over.
He took every shot to the chin Tito could throw a body shot is what ended it :deal I'd have loved to see Mayorga in better shape during that fight, he was tired after the first 2 rounds. Should have stayed at 147 there would have been some amazing fights :good
Still, taking Tito's shots overtime doesn't do well for your career regardless whether they didn't put him down. He should've stayed at 147...
Trinidad dropped him with a right to the head. I just rewatched it and he finished him with a body shot but dropped him with a right hand.
trinidad had a thing for ruining fighters david reid fernando vargas yori boy campas to name a few were never the same either
Yori Boy Campas was the same old tough, heavy-handed, no-defense guy he always was after Tito nearly took his head off. Tito simply took his "0".
That's what happens when you get old and fight too long, and also face better opposition. The Campas throughout most of the 90s wasn't much different. He lacked the speed and defense to get it done against the fighters at the highest level. It's one thing to beat the Roger Turners and Anthony Ivorys of the world. Guys like Tito, Jose Luis Lopez, and Fernando Vargas were on a much higher level.
yeah eric regan deffinitly high level my point is losses to lopez ,vargas ,oba carr, an delhoya all ko or tko things that didnt happen prior obba carr never known as devastating puncher
Yeah, Campas in 2005, after 90+ pro fights. The Campas throughout the 90s, who lost to Trinidad, Vargas, and Lopez, wasn't much different. Tito took his "0" but Campas's defense always sucked.
