Tua is lucky that Ruiz slipped and the ref thought that it was a KO, in the next round Ruiz was going to bear hug Tua until submission.
I have a freind that just really hates Ruiz. I showed him this fight one day , and you could literally see the joy and gleam in his eyes.
Devastating KO, but I still give Ruiz credit for coming back from that to win a couple of titles and make a lot of money. After the Tua fight, he looked like he would never fight again, much less be effective.
That's exactly what happens to me everytime I watch this fight. Tua was one of my favorite HW figthers of the time BEFORE this, but I will be eternally grateful for this great moment in boxing history. If ONLY he could have done it shortly AFTER King installed the cheating clubfighter as WBA champ, boxing would have been spared a sad and disgraceful chapter in its history.
