Just watch his highlights. He doesn't fight off of the backfoot because no one he's been in the ring with has really made him do that. His movement is generally coming forward and creating angles for his punches, but he isn't slow. He is great at closing the distance and does so at a much faster rate than most guys in that weight class. He is a beautiful understanding of range and the footwork to put himself in great positions. Canelo and Kovalev don't move the same at all. You can't outbox Kovalev the same way you can outbox Froch; they are two entirely different caliber of fighters.

What? P4P Kovalev has more power than Wilder. The only fighter on Wilder's resume that isn't a c- or D level fighter lasted 12 rounds. Kovalev made Hopkins forgot about winning the fight after 45 seconds..

But you can outbox him the same way, and Ward will prove it. This is another stylistic matchup where Kovalev will reprise his role as the Aggressor following in straight lines trying to land that game changing shot. I just see Kovalev getting frustrated as Ward uses his game plan and roughing up Kovalev on the inside.once that happens I feel Ward will start to Tee off on Kova, and gets a UD. I don't think Ward stops Kovalev.

Care to make a friendly wager on this? I sincerely thing that you are underestimating Kov's boxing ability and I'll go as far to say that you are overestimating the current Andre Ward. Again, this isn't the same Ward that won the Super Six. Ward is the type of fighter that looks better the better his competition is, but at the same time not fighting a top fighter in this division and then jumping to Kovalev is a tall order.

100% agree. This is a very wide UD win for ward and will be fairly easy to be honest. The level difference in skill is to much.

    Kovalev couldn't KO a 50 yo man.
Kov's power dazes his opponents but doesn't incapacitate his victims like Wilder.
P4P Kovalev's power index is probably around 60% of Wilder's power.

you watched a prime Ward at 168 defeat Froch and think that means something????

Bro YEARS have passed and he's moved up to Light Heavyweight... **** done changed! Big time!

Kov is significantly larger than Froch. Much, much bigger puncher. Vastly more refined boxer.

Ward will be walked down and brutally beaten along the ropes for the stoppage. Might come pretty early.

Ok. So I suppose you'll give credit to Ward when he wins then, Right?

This fight has additional drug testing, which was refused by Ward for the Froch fight.

Now let's say for argument sake Ward was on PEDs for the Froch fight, take away a lot of his strength from the Froch fight, and bare in mind there is a stronger man coming for him.

    Still more confident than ever?

    No.

When Kovalev puts guys down they tend to get back up and go rounds. See The Hopkins, Chilemba and Pascal fights. When Wilder puts guys down, they stay put down.

Wilder is the harder puncher P4P...

They're not THAT similar but I see the point you're making. I haven't had a fight make me change my mind as much as this one in a long time. I still think Ward decision at the moment, though I think it's a close fight either way. Just hoping neither of them pick up an injury or anything, boxing needs this at the moment.
