I actually like ole Danny. It is absoulte mess though what hes let himself get into. Not many will remember him cause of this , but yes i believe some takers were thinking he would brave the Vitali. I liked both, but figured vitali win i always love underdogs though. Funny enuf, watched this is a mexican restaurant (they played lots boxing there) and this big ole russian dude stood up on the first knockdown of poor Danny and yelled with a waiving arm thrust, "OOOOHH.....DANNY BOIIIIIII" so ridiculous. It got pretty dang ugly. But what a brave war , he tried, had no answers.
Incidental point, but Hatton shared a great anecdote concerning the paradox of Danny's pre-fight nerves, which he said were some of the worst he'd encountered in a fighter. Starts around 7:35; This content is protected
Cheers for this will definitely give it a watch..yeah it was obvious that Danny suffered terribly from nerves, in some fights you could tell his mind just wasnt with it, for instance in the Harrison rematch his mind was elsewhere
Yes I used to follow it closely and watch all those fights back then and I saw most of Danny's. He was in way more than his fair share of good ones.
