The tide turning moments that stand out in that fight were the following:

In the second round Margarito hit Cotto with an uper cut and broke his nose, he started bleading from that point on.

In the six round Cotto seemed to be giving a little bit Margo hit him a lot in the middle of the rounds making his nose bleed more.

In the seventh It looked like Cotto's nose was getting really bad to the point were could hardly breath then Margarito really hurt Cotto, he thru like 5 left uppercuts in a row and landed about 4, I think this is what made Cottos nose swell like a green pepper, Cotto held on and ran for the rest of the round.

In the Eighth, Cotto seemed to get some boxing control again in the fight. Fighting fairly evenly, still landing the cleaner shots he managed not to get really hurt until the 11th round. He was fighting and came back nicely after being in trouble the previous round.

Cotto was landing the cleaner shots in the fight and and the fight was even after ten round, on most cards.

In the eleventh a couple of hooks and a straight right just ****ed Cotto up and then a few soft upper cuts made him take a knee. He just could not take any more shots on that nose. He got up but he got caught with another you guess it uppercut this time right hand that sent him back and into that corner for good.

I think that the moments from rounds eight to the tenth give me reason to beleive that if Cotto could manage to not get his nose broken, that he could keep up the pace that fight was being fought at for 12 rounds.

There is no way that he is going to hurt Margarito, so box him for twelve rounds and protect your face and get the **** of the ropes and corners, and he should be able to pull it off.

He was the better boxer/puncher but did not have the NOSE, not chin, to hang with Margarito. That's boxing and he lost fair and square.

Maybe Margarito will be the one with the broken nose early in the fight next time, who knows.

If you Cotto fans want to make EXCUSES and CRY about this outcome weeks later, and you expect not to be laughed at I suggest you do it at Cotto's website.

thats fine and all ... then when vasquez got beat by marquez the first time he quit because he's a quitter like the typical mexican fighter ... his nose had nothing to do with any of it

Look does Cintron have overated power? I dont think so!

He hit Margarito his some ****ing shots and that muther****er ate them shits for breakfast.

Margo has an unhuman chin, man!

I beleive Cotto has a lot of heart, thats why he was able to come back from the 8th to the 10th, after being hurt.

I would like to add that the tremendous pounding Cotto's body received, his inability to put his weight into his punches, and his fear of fighting in the pocket all contributed to his face being smashed in, his ribs being cracked, his stamina draining and ultimately getting KTFO! :p
