If McCline was a top level finisher that fight would (and should) have been over. A heavy with a big punch that has a guy in that much trouble, needs to finish him. I realise he tried, and that probably cost him some gas down the stretch - but he really let him off the hook. A Lewis, Tyson type fighter would never have let him out of round 3. It's strange the same guys that praise Wlads "heart" for beating Peter after getting 3 KD's, aren't giving Peter the same praise though. Maybe love is blind.......
Thuner!!! I used to watch that guy box on ABC wide world of sports. Too bad they dont do that anymore.
Yeah, like when the ref told him to hold his hands up and he put them over his head :rofl He was out on his feet & you know it.
:yep Im definitely in that category. But if Peter wins, he should get credit. He becomes a legit belt holder. None of this interim crap. If I was a Peter fan, I would want to see consistency from him. I mean, in the wlad fight he was a warrior. In Toney I, he looked he'd been training at burger king. Toney II, he came to fight. Then, Mccline had Peter stumbling around like a drunk for most of the fight. I never questioned his in-ring heart but his inability to improve and stay in shape just like Bowe. I don't think he will change this pattern and will eventually be knocked out.
You wont be saying that when hes champ of the world come March, after he drops Maskaev with one punch.:yep
he deserves credit. he's got heart. i don't think he's improved like some peter nuthuggers (Punisher, Amb Def :yep ) do but anyone who can take punishment like he has against wlad and mccline deserve respect. his singing and bs excuses such as calling brutal kds "slips" and saying both of his hands are broken are more funny than annoying
Oh my moneys on Peter for that fight, but if Maskaev is any sort of shape he has a very live punchers chance It was almost surreal watching Peter getting battered by Jameel ****ing McCline Peter is going to get knocked out heavily unless he starts taking things seriously
I don't dislike Peter, it's his fans that I can't stand. :yep Right Fightingweight? In all seriousness any fighter that steps between the ropes for a living deserves respect.
At least your post was fair for the most part, and yes 2 of the 3 I thought were real knockdowns, the first knockdown looked like he was either off balance or slipped on something. Peter has improved his craft greatly since 04 when he made it big with atomic bomb like punch he hit Williams with, he has improved his body work, straightened punches more, and throws less wild punches which helps to conserve his energy late in fights, and his most improved skill is his jab, which I would say is top 5 in the heavys.
