So Terrence beats the crap out of Errol and then randomly the ring doctor comes in and even Errol is basically telling the doctor to F off and the doctor goes "I am not making sure you are okay"

Then in the 7th round he gets knocked down twice, I just am confused why the ref didn't just wave it off. That second knockdown in the 7th especially considering how we just watched Errol get beat on for 6 rounds up until this point. Woudln't waving it off make sense? I know the bell was about to ring but still

was there something up with the ref?

Yeah, the fight should've 100% been waved off at the end of the 7th, but it was for the undisputed crown at 147. That's why the ref probably gave it the extra couple of rounds. Derrick James should have stepped in as well. Spence was completely out of his depth from round 2 onwards.

A British ref would needed a Valium after watching that.

American refs don’t like to wave fights off unless it really bad. British refs wave it off the second someone gets hit in the face.

It is boxing. Sometime hurt fighters survive and end up winning. I thought the stoppage was fine at that point.

There’s generally more to save up top when it comes to British fighters.
More fighters are robbed on the cards than they are by the referee, luckily there are more examples of early stoppages than late ones.
