I have said this on other board and will say it again. SInce Vitali started fighting as a pro, the words, Sloppy, Robot, Ugly, and hands low are always said about him. But the fact is the same. He wins. To say Hayes was laughing his ass off is a total joke.

I felt that Gomez could win this fight, but the stronger will of Vitali and his sloppy fighting style won out again.

VitKlit has always looked a bit sloppy but it works for him.

He's a tough man who uses his own ugly but effective style.

His 2 comeback wins have been impressive.

Peter and Gomez were top 10 fighters w/ different styles and Klit the Elder chopped them both down.

I like the tough ******* more than ever.

I don't see anyone who will beat him in the next couple years and that includes Haye.

Gomez had the reach advantage if i'm not mistaken. Gomez's problem was that he only had one hand (b/c he only ever paws with his weak hand) and he couldn't set up any effective left hands. gomez's speed couldn't make up for basically fighting with one arm against a bigger and stronger guy. gomez just didn't have what it takes to outbox vitaly from the outside, but it wasn't b/c gomez was small. i don't think gomez would've done well on the inside either and probably should have just stuck to trying to counterpunch vitaly (which would have made for an ultra booring fight but probably one where jcg would have a chance).

I had the scoring the same, although I can't say I'm as optimistic about how Vitali looked. Vitali was extremely stiff in there all night, and seemed to have a lot of trouble moving around or putting punches together. I suspect his back and his knee were acting up, which might explain why he was even more stiff than usual. Fortunately, he found that the left hook was wide open all night long, and he was able to keep nailing Gomez with it.

Outside of Povetkin or Chagaev, I don't think anyone's a major threat to beat him (Haye just doesn't have the chin, and I could see a scenario where Haye wins a lot of early rounds, but there's probably a 90% chance Haye would eventually get knocked out), but he looked like a shell of his former self, and he probably would get beaten if he faced someone who moves well and has a good chin. Fortunately for him, that fighter doesn't exist at the moment.

I saw the fight a day or two after it happened. Based on most of the posts I read before viewing, I thought these guys were gonna just be leaning on each other the whole fight. That was not the case. Sure the fight was not pretty, but they were both throwing leather the whole fight, and there was way less clinching than I anticipated. Klit looked rusty mainly because of Gomez. Gomez was unpredictable, cagey, and was forced to fight to survive, and tried his as off. The fact that Klit stopped him impressed me. It was a good win against a difficult opponent who never gave up.
