That shorter fighters are known to slip punches better can you imagine a 5'9 Pernell up against a Floyd at his real height, I mean why would he get low to slip if hes so tall compared to Floyd wouldn't he just keep his gloves up tight to his temple ? Which brings me to my next question, shouldn't Paul Williams finish the rest of his career fighting tall instead of getting low. I mean why not just stay behind your jab turn your opponent and keep your hands up high ? I mean we all know how we would do this have him faint before he jabs and constantly turn the guy, throw flurries and get out the minute his opponent lets his hands go. But anyway that's all.
Yeah, interesting tittle but I think you're right. This has worked for the Klitshko's for years. (careless if I spelled Klitshko's right)
I know they had this trouble with Dawson. But smaller fighters are believed to need better head movement, but Floyd uses it well against smaller opponents as well as taller ones.
Hopkins and Dawson are both tall fighters who are good at slipping punches. it does great for hopkins. if dawson and williams had better timing skills, it would be great for them too. being tall and still being able to slip punches is an advantage. steward's gonna get dawson's ass beat!
I think if he was going to go with Steward, it should have been much earlier. I think Floyd Sr. is his ideal trainer
