Just seen the Froch fight... a couple of things...

    But what do you want the judges to to? Fix one of the cards? They all scored for the right winner.

    Kessler was a close but clear winner. Fights like that should turn up as UDs, not splits just for the sake of appearances. Being "fair" or Froch somehow deserving a SD rather than a UD just doesn't come into it.

    And actually, if Froch had been given a card, the cries of robbery would have been louder. Froch didn't win, Kessler did. You may disagree with the scoring, but the fact is that it's tiny minority who have decided the crowd swayed the judges. What they've done is introduce positive discrimination for Froch on the basis of perceived bias for Kessler.

    It was one of those fights I felt truly privileged to watch. I wouldn't have complained if it had been judged a draw or a victory for Froch and I'm not complaining that Kessler got the nod either. It could be argued that the crowd may have swayed the judges a little or that challengers need to 'win' the belt decisively, but Kessler was a warrior as well and deserved to take something from the fight. It's a pity they can't split that belt in half.
