Just watched a couple hours of Ray Robinson, hadn't really ever seen him fight much.. watched him fighting Jake LaMotta and a couple others..

Sorry, but Mayweather would completely have dominated Ray Robinson... (he reminds me alot of Mosley in style)

and Pacquiao.. well he would have seriously hurt these guys. It's the way of life, there's supposed to be evolution and growth and progression. But I have no clue where anyone, after honest analysis, would think Ray Robinson was the all time best P4P... I don't see that at all...

If you're going by number of fights, or frequency of fights, or whatever.. ok it was way different then... but 1 to 1, following a complete training camp.. sorry but May easily outskills these guys, and Pac seriously out speeds and hurts them.

i guess 2 hrs on youtube definitely qualifies you to make those statements that dispute about a zillion other boxing people's opinion

Another boring 'boxing has evolved' thread? Thought so. Robinson would beat the **** out of Mayweather & Pacquiao.

Oh wow, you watched TWO WHOLE HOURS of Ray Robinson?

OK, you're definitely an expert. He'd get KTFO in a single round by Mayweather or Pacquiao, sho'nuff.

Well if i'm wrong tell me where? He isn't more technically skilled... he was getting hit way too often... he didn't look like he had crushing power... he wasn't throwing blazing combinations... he has great footwork.. moves good... his D doesn't look special...
    what am I missing here?
Point me in the right direction....

And if Emmanual Steward can watch 30 seconds of a fight and make a determination... someone with a lifetime of boxing viewing and experience can make educated assesments after a couple of hours of viewing

Your probably right... the more people have passed in history the higher they are revered... it happens... in about 300 years people will talk about how good mayweather was

Sugar Ray Robinson threw outrageous combination's, and he had enough power to knockout the likes of Graziano and Fulmer with single shots. The guy was extra-ordinary, I can only recommend you invest more time in Youtube and specifically Ray Robinson.

Can make educated assessments, and yet he doesn't have crushing power. How about you go and watch him knock out iron-chinned Gene Fullmer with a single left-hook while going backwards.

He is more technically skilled, offensively he had everything. He is a better composite puncher than anybody either Mayweather or Pacquiao has ever faced, neither of them would deal with the combination of speed, power, precision, timing and angles. Are you saying he couldn't throw combinations aswell?
