Thats your opinion, but the truth is, other than the Klit brothers, who else is out there? Peter is no doubt still a top 10 fighter, I would even rank him top 5. He's honestly 2 fights away from another title match, if thats the direction he wants to go. If he gets a new team and gets himself in-shape, mentally and physically, he can beat almost everyone in the division, other than Vitali and maybe Wlad, though with Wlad's very weak chin, anythings possible.
Peter doesnt have a chance to do ANYTHING with his current team and current work ethic. He needs a total overhaul
That's just it.. he will never be in top shape. Chagaev would beat him..valuve would jab him to death..
see to me, being proven at cw doesn't validate him at hw. he has a new body and facing far bigger men that can punch. i want to see him fight into the later rounds as a hw and maintain effectiveness. that chin is a serious liability too. even Haye admitted if he gets clipped it's probably lights out. Relying on speed and ego instead of sound technique and defense imo is gonna be a big problem for him. And Wlad has faster hands and better feet than Enzo or Mormeck by far. so when people say wlad is slower than cws, it really makes no sense. every opponent talks about wlad's speed after the fight and how surprising it was. he is facing a huge challenge and i am looking forward to a lifetime ban bet (a la 40oz) with his many nuthuggers when and if this fight comes off :good
I agree, but after seeing he was too fat and slow for Wlad he just got bigger, he reminds Corrie Sanders, he won't change. I think Haye would have easly took Peter apart saturday night
These guys are as a whole terrible, there is like 4 maybe 5 GOOD fighters in the division Wlad, Vitaly, and a few others, but Haye is good enough to beat what I saw saturday night.
and there are even fewer at cw. nevertheless, i really hope Haye vs. Wlad or Vitali comes off too. there r only two marketable fights to be made down the road. Haye or Valuev vs. the Klitschkos. And it's pretty clear where Valuev's intentions lie. we are in total agreement there :good
BTW I'm not sold on Vitaly being back, he was tired from the 3rd rd on. I think Peter had alot more to do with him looking great.
What are you doing here? See post below: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2582991&postcount=21
Too hard on him. Peter would still beat quite a few top tier guys. He came out good against Vitali with double and tripling his jab...for the first minute or two. Peter simply fought a nasty m'fer who would have dawged a ton of great fighters than night. That gameplan with immediate left hooks was nothing short of brilliant. If Peter isn't mentally done, he will come back and be fine.
