cause he is another product that gbp is trying to SELL to us... instead of letting him fight his way to the top....

I basically hate all gbp fighters....they go to extreme lengths to "SELL" their fighters to us as fans as if we are stupid and cannot make our own decisions

back in the day, a main event was a main event- as it is now- but the support acts were also great.

normally in the undercard you had one fight- which had a potential opponent for either winner of the main event- so for example they would have shown off a guy like bradley in the support act.

then they d have an exciting fight with 2 prospect on the undercard- i mean- ricky hatton once fought on the undercard of Oscar, and Kostya Tszyu on the undercard of Roy jones- why dont they show off Rigondeux or a Victor Ortiz, Mailana or Maidana?!?!

it seems like they think- that every star , prospect, real or champ- needs to have their own night now- and that night- depending on how big they are- is either friday night fights, la fight club , hbo championship boxing, showtime or ultimately hbo ppv.

but the idea of using a big ppv- to not just have the main event- but also to promote future stars- seems to have been lost.

i think the main main reaason for this, is greed from the boxers and promoters. it used to be a promoters sport, which itself had problems for boxers- they were often exploited in the king and arum days- with stars being paid little to fight on a big card. But now the problem is that its become a boxers sport- every single ****ing fighter worth a name- has his own promotional company. what happens is, that the boxers in the main event - end up squeezing every dollar out of promtional revenue as well as ppv revenue- and of course boxer revenue purses- so that by the end of it- there simply isnt enough money to get any decent up and comers to fight.

i mean - whats the motivation for the promoters/boxers now?? theyre going to make a packet off of the two marquee names already- why give the fans something- if its going to come out of their pocket??? because it will benefit them in the long run- by making better events, better fights, and bigger stars. i thought oscar and golden boy were going to rectify this ****- goes to show theyre the same as everyone else in that situation,. greedy and irresponsible and weak.

Most promoters do the same thing GBP is doing. You don't think Arum does this as well

What Jose Cotto is a former super featherweight that is fighting a fight at Welter + because He is almost retired and not even training. That fight is a joke.

The Groves and Jacobs fights are part of the untelevised undercard. Alvarez-Cotto and Ponce-Lock are the two televised fights. GBP will add one more fight televised fight.

    i agree

there should be no bitching about a card when ur getting a main event like this

and as far as people crying about how promoters arent gaining fans with a card like this....the diehards are buying it anyway...the casuals who buy it because they know the name floyd....or shane...or both....they arent paying attention to the undercards...they are bullshitting about life with their friends over wine and cheese with krakers or 3 layer nacho dip

I agree he's hyped to a certain extent but GBP has nothing to do with it. He just signed with them. He's hyped for his ko's which started way before then. People just want to see him rise through the ranks now and see how good he is. GBP can do this.
