Yes. Very different cardio for both boxing and BJJ. You might be in better condition for boxing than you are for BJJ, but if you haven't done either in a while I doubt it.

Have fun and good luck in training man :).

Yep, doing BJJ and MT now. I was doing karate before (kyokushin) I had my blackbelt from Andre Gilbert here, in Montreal a couple of year back, but I quitted because I wanted something more ''usefull'' in real situation.
I would like to compete one day, but its hard with all the school and work..

Anyway, keep it up! BJJ is great.

Thanks brothas ..The BJJ drills are really good cardio ..I plan to get back to some light boxing sparring next week ..Funny but my respect for these warriors is at an all time high ..If the drills just kicked my ass I can imagine doing this full time .

I do BJJ, you defo feel it when you miss even a few weeks never mind 4 yrs.

I need to get back, I havent been for about 3 months, my consistency is terrible.
When you keep fit, you enjoy the grappling more I feel because there`s no worse feeling than being gassed & burned out in a fight/spar.

Hit the nail right on the head ..I was so gassed when I rolled with my instructors I had no choice but to take the submissions ..You ain't lying about the gassed part thats what has me craving it more ..When I took a few yrs back on a conistant basis I was feeling as nimble as a cat and my cardio was solid ..

I love BJJ I started in May and cant get enough of it. For the cardio it takes awhile to build it up mines became pretty good but I was rolling hard on Thursday with this guy Ted whos probably a bit better then me do to his Gi training. Anway we agreed just keep going until someone taps after about 25 minutes we are still going at it and im talking non stop movement no stalling I overcommited to a toe hold and he took advantage but hitting a sick knee bar on me and I tapped. We rested like 2-3 minutes we looked at each other and said agian ? So here we go for about id say 10 hard minutes agian and I was trying hard to get a submission on him I spent so much energy on a Kimura from guard I thought for sure I had it once but he straightened out his arm at the last secound, not long after he passed me and I was totally shot he went for an armbar he was a bit tired to actually. I tried the roll to the free shoulder escape but my body went in slow motion and he capitalized on it and hit the armbar. Im lucky gassing doesnt happen often but I agree its just a horrible feeling knowing you cant do nothing because your body is truely on empty.

The one guy I paired up with acted like a novice but 2 minutes into it he was attemepting everything ..I was fortunate to get out of 1 armbar attempt and a kimora but after a few more minutes I was just gassed fedning him off he then got me with a lapel choke ..After rolling with him I get to roll with an instructor who's bruce lee's nephew with a sick ground game ..We get started he's all over me im thinking im doing well since I just rolled with an experinec student ..Man was I delusional ..In 3 moves he was able to pull a triangle on me ..But the fact that I was so gassed had me thinking all weekend ..Next class I plan to be better prepaired ..
