Just under the wire, 15 days left in 2020 and Tim Tszyu might've just scored KO of the year

It's aesthetically pleasing, but does not have anywhere near the brutality of Povetkin's KO.

People (overexuberant Aussies on Twitter, mostly) are saying he's more dangerous p4p than Kostya was at this stage, which is rubbish. But it does seem like he's a bit of a dark horse, underrated by many simply because so many relatives of famous boxers end up fizzling out and falling well short of the hyped promise. I think he's a player, and 154 has been **** weak for a coon's age, so he could very conceivably grab a belt. Maybe not Charlo (who may eventually go to MW anyway...especially if Jermall winds up climbing north to chase a Canelo payday at SMW), but there's no reason to say he couldn't beat the rest of the belt holders and top contenders (but also no reason to favor him over most of them just yet...the picture is still developing and not yet crystallized in clarity). He could easily be where he is with close to a 100% kayo ratio; if you look at the guys he didn't stop, they aren't the sort that really gets stopped.

Morgan flew like 2-3 yards!

Whyte did get felled like a redwood, though. Very satisfying to watch. :D

Yea, it's the sheer size of HW's and the fact that Whyte fell like a redwood and stayed down flat on his back. It just seems to me that a KO is more devastating when the fighter takes a nap. But then again some fighters seem to have this weird ability to not take a nap and I have no idea how.

I've never seen a p4p harder shot in my life than the punch Hearns landed on Duran. But somehow (and I really can't understand how it happened) Duran was on his feet not long after the punch landed.

Maybe the guy Tsyzu hit is one of those guys that won't stay down.

For me it's Morrison's left hook against Ruddock, which made me wonder how in Odin's name he got up from that. Also, Donaire's left hook against Montiel :scared1

Ref could have stopped the fight after the first knockdown. The guy was obviously hurt and wobbling.

Hell of a KO. But Povetkin's KO of Whyte, Zepeda's KO of Baranchyk, Krasniqi's KO of Boesel, Davis' KO of Santa Cruz, George's KO of Escudero, Smith Jr's KO of E. Alvarez, Cruz's KO of Magdaleno are all better.

I've seen fights get stopped there but think considering the level of the fighters etc, that the fighter deserves some benefit of the doubt and chance to continue considering it was only the 1st round

Yes! Joe George’s KO is a sleeper. Beautiful punch. Sasha too, and because it was Whyte it made it even sweeter. So many good finishes in a sparse year.

    Lovely finish by Tim

    Very worthy of consideration

I think the Whyte KO wins it for me just on pure satisfaction alone in seeing that big headed fool smoked again
