Agree with your picks acb especially the Obelmejas fight. Mugabi fight was a great battle. Just watched highlights of the Obelmejas fight and Hagler was awesome. Great fighter!!!

 

The ABC Boxing Body kept forcing Fulge Obel on Hagler and he was really p.o.'ed about having to fight a propped up No. 1 contender.

Supposedly, ABC actually wanted a 3rd fight, and Hagler said "F" this.

i never saw hagler fight any better than in his fight with sibson.tony while not elite was dangerous with a big left hook,and hagler gave him good respect.he was up on his toes and simply gave a vintage display of the noble art,every punch in the book was landed on poor sibbo who tried his heart out in there but was simply outclassed.when he had sibson where he wanted him he came down off his toes planted his feet and got sibbo out of there.it was almost perfection.

 

Sibson was is best performance followed by the rematch with Hamsho.

 

The best versions of Hagler and the best versions of Hopkins would be a very close fight. I've always felt they are pretty evenly matched overall. Hagler had a better jab and heavier hands. They were both versatile fighters, but Hagler seemed to be more proven in the "brawling" area as he was able to trade it out with big punchers like Mugabi and Hearns and end up on top. Hopkins might've been a little slicker. Hopkins had better head and upper body movement I feel, while Hagler's defense was effective more from the parrying. I think Hopkins is a little quicker of hand, and better "stink" tactics. Even before he got old, he could win fights in ugly ways by mauling and knowing all the little tricks up close, holding and hitting, angling himself where it was tough to hit him.

I think it goes the distance, and basically can go either way, depending on the judges, and it would be fairly evenly split from observers as well.

 

Dont forget the MAXIMUM length per fight is only 45 ish(15x3) or 36 ish mins(12x3)
Its not that big of a commitment.
