and embarress undefeated young gun Kelly Pavlik on Saturday, three months before he celebrates his 44th birthday.
After this fight even the haters will understand the greatness of Bernard Hopkins - the greatest fighter since Pernall Whitaker and one of the top 20 fighters of all time.

The only way Bernard loses to this guy is by way of robbery.

It is going to be an ugly, long, boring fight, resulting in a SD. I sure won't be watching it.

I'm nowhere near certain, but I will bet Hopkins, no question about that.

Pavlik is a smarter fighter than most give him credit for. I'd be happy if hopkins wins on saturday, but I doubt it. Pavlik by UD or by a sadly devastating KO.

You really believe if Pavlik beats Hopkins, Joe schools Kelly? Like Joe schooled Bhop? Ole Joe just squeaked by The Ancient One. TAO schooled Joe in some ways. He just got out worked. TAO landed the cleaner more effective punches. He had the knock down. Just not nearly enough for 2 out of 3 judges. You didn't really think about this post very hard did you? :-(

Hopkins is a legend but Pavlik will be to fast and to young for Bernard. I'll be so bold as to say Pavlik by KO inside of 10.

i don't know man. i had b-hop schooling joe, but joe still barely took the fight in an ugly, dishonorable way, but still a win to his credit. b-hops definitely the more skillful, but the thing that worries me is if he's gonna gas out like with joe in the later rounds. kelly does everything joe does but he's gonna whack you not slap you. plus he's not a one punch destroyer like an echols but i think he might wear b-hop down and get him with pressure. it'll be a good fight with both trying to make a statement

I think if B-Hop hasn't lost nothing since his last fight, he wins a squeeker as he will be better able handle Pavlik's predictable attack. But my guess is, he did age a bit from his last fight to this one.

Sorry dude. Calzaghe may be old but he is a better fighter than Pavlik - more speed, more skill and craftiness. There is a reason why he remained at the top for so long. Pavlik punches harder, but he is a basic fighter who hits in straight lines. No way he does everything Calzaghe does. Hopkins will expose how one dimensional he is the same way Nate Campbell exposed Juan Diaz.

Calzaghe is a FAR more skilled fighter than Pavlik that the skill level here isn't even close. You're right about Hopkins possibly running out of gas late, if that happens then I can see Pavlik securing rounds all the way to the a close decision. If Hopkins keeps Pavlik missing and landing his own like he did with Tarver(who is also more skilled than Pavlik) most of that fight then he takes it easily.

Pavlik's activity might change things around here but how affective will that be against Hopkins?, I'll be very shocked if the 1-2s of Pavlik will put Hopkins in serious trouble or make him lose more rounds than he's supposed to unless he gets really tired and can't move or stay active enough.

I see Hopkins landing sneaky counter rights all night, Pavlik is open for those. Plus, Pavlik is coming up at least ten pounds, how will it affect him? Not well, perhaps. Pavlik is used to be the bigger, more imposing fighter in there.

pavlik has a tremendous punch resistance and great power - hopkins is too ringwise to expect him to be knocked out by pavlik - i expect kelly to be busier than the old hopkins and its pavlik on points for me...
