I am pretty confident that Pavlik will beat him. I dont know where the hell everyone get this notion that all Abraham has to do is land one punch and Pavlik will be done, it took way more then one punch and several knockdowns to put away no name Oral, not only that but Oral was landing quite a few flush punches, Abraham is not going to eat punches like that from Pavlik. Pavlik could very easily keep the distance with the Jab and completely out work him. Im sure Aurthur will get through a couple times...but no way it is gonna end Pavlik like some people seem to think on here. Pav's chin is a good and he has enough heart to continue even if he does manage to get hurt.

Id pick Pav to TKO him late or win a UD. This fight needs to happen right now, If Arum is the one messing it up then he is a ****ing idiot because it will do nothing but make Pavliks stock go up. Sauderland is just is much a piece of crap and could very well be the problem also. No one really knows why this fight isn't happening but it is getting very annoying.

I also think Pavlik will beat AA, but to be fair, it isn't like AA is fighting at his highest level against low grade opposition. I think when and if Pav/AA happens, it'll bring out the best in them. I know Pav can withstand some heavy shots and come back, still don't know about AA in that area.

He started becoming aggressive in the middle rounds, what is your point, he got hit with flush punches, he is a fighter, fighters get hit by no name ALL THE TIME? Once he started opening up, he made Oral look like an amateur. You have your opinion, but why say he got "hit flush" was he not supposed too? I don't get it?

Excellent post! Pavlik/Abraham is the current equivalent of Calzaghe/Lacy. It's VERY frustrating that this fight hasn't happened, but a careful study of Abraham's resume' makes it pretty clear that Saueralnd does not let fighters who can both bang, and box a bit anywhere near Arthur.

Look man, All Im saying is that if oral could land, then a much better fighter in Kelly Pavlik who packs about 3 times more of a punch then Oral could land also, to me it just seems Pavliks gonna land on him quite alot and they are going to be hard shots to take, Abraham will land less do to the factor of height and reach, and he will be outworked by alot.

Abraham might have little chance against Pavlik. Possibly... However, Pirog in his Friday shape will give hell to both of them and eventually let'em crying in dust.

Oral looked pretty good besides he doesnt have much punching power. He was way outguned. I would like to see him again.

I seen Lorenzo vs Marquez. Lorenzo looked terrible. The tough underrated Turk, Oral could probably beat the overrated fraud #1 ranked Lorenzo .

What I saw in that fight was that keeping a long jab and standing at range can be prety effective against Abraham who likes to explode in spots. Unfortunately for AA I don't think that's going to work against Pavlik who is tall, and very consistent with his long jab attack, and is a much heavier puncher than Oral.

People like to say that Abraham can land one big shot at any moment and knock Keelly out, but we all know that Kelly is tough and can withstand a heavy dose of punishment and has never been KOed in his entire career so I don't know how standing around waitng for spots to oen up will be effective against him. The guy is too tough, too strong, and too consisteent with his style to allow that to happen.

To be fair though while Kelly has never been KO'd, he has been put in BAD BAD spots before against Zuniga, Hoppy and Taylor to name a few. Kelly is a tremendous clincher and has quick recouperative abilities (a notch below Izzy Vasquez and JMM but certainly 2nd tier) which makes him a tough guy to finish off.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Pavlik gets over zealous when Abraham is doing his nap time routine and gets caught with something BIG from Abraham. Big enough to hurt him and put him down. The key whether Abraham is intelligent enough to measure himself, pace himself and not allow Pavlik the opportunity to smother his offensive flurries.

The key for Pavlik is to take advantage of the opening rounds where Abraham is snoozing. Build up a nice comfortable lead (3 rounds to four rounds in a row) and then when the opportunity comes and Abraham is getting ready to strike, either go consistently with the jab OR tie his ass up. Frustrate Abraham. Do not allow him to ever get cooking. As soon as you get to the final minute mark in a round be prepared to clinch, tie up or simply evade anything Abraham comes forward with. AVOID a slugfest. He's got more power and he's got a better chin. You can potentially win a counterfest but you cannot win a slugfest. I would use the same game plan Cintron used against Angulo except modified in some key areas.

Nah, I wouldn't say Pav by decapitation, Abraham is tough and has a good chin, if he gets stopped I think it will be on his feet or in the corner, Pavlik will have to break him down with heavy shots over a few rounds. I lean more to a convincing UD for Pav, or a Late stoppage.

Pavlik ain't no Calzaghe. He is very hittable and simply was able to phyisically dominate most of his opponents. AA is most likely the first fighter Pavlik would meet who has more one punch power and a better chin than Pavlik. Sure, he will win rounds with his workrate, but when AA gets going, Pavliks might find himself in new territory. AA tends to fight to the level of his competition and it is pretty amazing how little he has to do to win fights without being in danger.

I dont why AA has all this fanaticism either. Pavlik has fought and beat better opposition Pavlik will KO AA and it would not even be that close of a fight. AA is not a great counter puncher (like bhop) and he takes many flush shots. Yeah hes strong, but the point is not to get hit, just ask JTaylor, Pavlik will out work him and KO AA withing 9 rds.

Why AA is still fighting guys that are ranked #10 and below is just an example of a alphabet champ.

Pavlik is the man who beat the man, AA is the one who should want to fight the champ yet is he the one whose comfortable fighting bums in Germany.

Why this situation is somehow Pavlik's fault is beyond me. Kelly has done wayyy more then AA, haters are just discrediting Pavlik but he is the true MW champ, AA is merely a contender to the throne.

Some have forgot styles make fights.....

I would pick AA to KO pavlik late......AA is a very, very good counter puncher.....he could work off kelly's agression and make him pay.....plus pavlik imo is one of the most overrated guys out there as far as his technical skills go.....he is pretty simple.....double jab, and right hand....its basic stuff......at middleweight he is able to use his genetics, size and strenghth mostly to beat his opponents.....he doesnt outobx guys like abraham can do......i'm sure abraham's chin can hold up, and he can outbox kelly if he had too......keep in mind this is the same pavlik that got floored by carear journey man zuniga, and taylor.....and abraham def. has more power and better polished skills compared to pavlik......

abraham would win by late KO...or a points win of 116-112.....

That's a new low, Boo!

Why didn't you say Pavlik/Abraham is the new Hopkins/Pavlik, I mean if you're looking for a one sided fight, you just have to look out of your window for ideas. :yep

Anyway, you gotta help me hyping up the Agbeko fight, people just don't see the FOTY coming.
