BTW, what were your scorecards? I rewatched the fight and scored it: Adamek-Briggs 8-10 10-9 10-9 9-10 9-10 10-10 10-9 10-9 10-9 10-10 10-10 10-9 and 1 point deducted to Adamek for low blow summing up its 115-114
I do not it is fair to blame them for not transmitting the first fight. It was the first important fight for Adamek who fought mostly tomato cans to that point, so there was nothing to indicate this fight could be a FOTY candidate. I scored both fights for Adamek, but, especially with the KD and deduction in rematch, I have no problem if someone saw it as a draw or even had Briggs by a fraction of point ;-)
Great fight(s), should be in for the most overlooked wars of the past decade. I have no idea why HBO didn't make Adamek a regular on the network, he's both exciting and very good, and can sell out arenas.
It was on the undercard of Brewster-Golota and it saved the show as Golota got completely destroyed by Brewster in one minute.
I have the second fight... would love to give it to you. Just suggest a method oh, and the quality is good
Personally I enjoyed this fight more than the first bout, just awesome! I had it: Adamek - Briggs II 1. 8-10 2. 10-9 3. 10-9 4. 9-10 5. 9-10 6. 9-10 7. 10-9 8. 10-9 9. 9-10 10. 10-9 11. 10-9 12. 10-9 114-113 Adamek I had some problems scoring the 10th. Adamek clearly won that round but he hit Briggs low on the side just after the ref gave Tomasz warning about hitting low. Briggs wasn't hurt but he used this situation to take Adamek one point. So it's a 9-9 round but I don't give even rounds so I think that if I should score it as I feel it hould be 10-9 or 9-8 Adamek even that he had a point deducted. But I followed the rules and scored it 10-9 Briggs who was taking a beating in that round. How would you score it?
And it only took him four rounds longer to do it than TJ Wilson or the fat Mexican who just got his butt kicked by Cris Arreola, and two rounds longer than Alex Leapai. Seriously, knocking out Travis Walker is no great feat. Outside of one punch, he's looked like crap as a heavyweight.
Great fights no doubt, but you have to feel sorry for Paul going up against a juiced up cheatatsch Still he did some major face reconstruction to that roided up cheen!
Both of the Adamek/Briggs fights were candidates for fights of the year. Fantastic brawls coupled with displays of technical excellence. It's nice to see Adamek go on to a greater career from there - but sad to see how far Briggs has fallen.
second fight was amazing it was close down the stretch and Adamek threw over 100 punches in the last round desperate to win as an Adamek fan I was really nervous when they read the decision i didnt think he was gonna get it
