Just watched Alexander-Kotelnik... Lederman has lost the plot!

I finally got hold of this fight today, and scored it to Kotelnik by 4 points.

Even though there were 4 points in it on my card, I wouldn't call an Alexander card a robbery as such because it was difficult to score, but I would definitely call the judges' cards a joke and I would definitely call Harold Lederman's card a disgrace.

I'm guessing all the meaty discussion on this was done at the weekend, but if anyone still has anything to say about it then feel free to vote and comment :good

I haven't scored Alexander-Kotelnik yet so I can't say though Lederman's card did seem odd when I watched the fight(Not the first time Lederman has bizarre scoring either). Don't worry I'll bump this thread when I do score the fight but that probably won't be for awhile because I want to rewatch it a few times before I do so.

A good share of the time my score card looks very similar to Lederman's. However, there are times when Harold makes me look at the people around me and asked, "What ****ing fight is he watching?"

The first option, Lederman was giving Alexander rounds because he was 'busy', busy hitting air and grunting like a little *****.

As you said, there were a fair number of swing rounds.

I honestly had it 115-113 for Alexander but you're correct that card was a little off. Alexander controlled the action from start to finish but Kotelnik definitely had his moments and absolutely won the second half of the fight. Problem is that he gave away the first 5 rounds.

Kotelnik definitely had his moments and was clearly landing the harder shots in the second half of the fight but I still had Alexander 115-113. Had it been an amateur matchup, Kotelnik would have won hands down but many, many judges for professional fights like it when guys control the action the way Alexander did.

I thought it was a close decision wither way, a lot of the rounds were hard to score. Alexander was missing a lot but he also landing the left fairly frequently. Reading some peoples posts after the fight on here you'd think he barely landed a punch which simply isn't true. He was less accurate than Kotelnik but I thought the number of punches landed were fairly close (and that's ignoring so called compubox stats).
Lederman's card was utterly ridiculous but that's really not anything new. He always score rounds to whoever misses the most. It's odd that in close fights sometimes his card and mine even out at about the same but with almost all the rounds being scored to the opposite corner. Lederman's terrible, pretty much like the rest of HBO's team, Lampley's a joke, Kellerman couldn't tell his arse from his elbow. Merchant is the only one worth his salt and he's a drunk.
Anyway, he's a terrible, terrible judge.

Oh god. He wasn't doing that irritating grunting again, was he?

What bothers me about the whole Alexander hype is Witter won a round or two and his arm was ****ed. Alexander has been hyped more than Bradley, he's way too young to be considered the current cream of the crop.

Just scored it my card is fresh from the oven for ya Popkins.

Not an easy fight to score but this is what I had.

    Devon- 1,2,3,4,
    Kotelnik- 5,6,8,9,10,11,12

    Even- 7

    Winner: Kotelnik 7-4-1 116-113

As much as I love DA, I score on effectiveness and the more effective fighter in the fight was Kotelnik hands down. Devon was more effective with straights than I thought he was and he did use hooks more than I though but just like I noticed the last time I watched this fight, 1) he didn't use the straight to the body enough & 2) he didn't use the uppercut enough. So basically I had it 3 points for Kotelnik in a close fight and that sounds pretty reasonable. As much as I wanted to give Alexander rounds, he wasn't effective enough through most of the fight. Bradley & him LOVE to fight and Bradley's D isn't nearly as tight as Kotelnik's so he should be fine and I expect a slugfest. We need a big fight, 2010 has sucked for the most part.
