I picked Trout to win. Based on the fact that I think he has a better chance against Mayweather than Alvarez has.
First of all I thought this was every bit as good of a fight as Bradley/Provodnikov. I saw a back and forth boxing match with neither Alvarez or Trout being able to take full control from the other. even when the other guy was in control neather man seamed to be out of his element.
In the end I scored it for Alvarez 115-113. or 6-5-1 for Alvarez. I scored the 7th 10-8 for Alvarez and I scored the 9th 10-10. I thought that Trout got of to a great start in that round, but Alvarez finished it with a great desplay of defense. In the 7th round Alvarez started it out with a bang knocking Trout down early. Trout responded really well. It seemed that in a fight where both guys showed outstanding defense, that in that round neither guy could miss. Alvarez was able to hurt Trout again. After blowing the 9th round. I thought Trout had his best round in the 10th. About halfway through Trout was able to stun Alvarez, but was not able to fallow through and even things back up. In my opinion Alvarez clinched the fight in the 11th round.

Everyone knows that the winner is in line for a bout with Mayweather in the likely event that he beats Guerrero. If either fights against Mayweather the way they fought eachother. Doing their best to control the distance. Using their jabs, focusing on defene and not rushing in. I still don't see eather beating him, but they will greatly increse their chances of doing so. I'm still picking Mayweather over Alvarez. I would have picked him over Trout too. I just now think it will be a little bit closer of a fight.

just ask yourself this, whos confidence seemed to be shattered during and after the fight? that would clearly be Trout

Like you say, he got off to a good start, but as the fight went on he visibly couldn't believe this kid in front of him slipping his shots and hitting him with clean counters

winner: physically and mentally: Saul Alvarez

I don't think either Alvarez and Trout had his confidence shattered ore even slightly dented.

I disagree, Trout got, how do the yanks say it, "mind ****ed"

if you are an undefeated, so called master boxer and the guy in front of you slips an 8 punch combo, that doesnt feel good

It was a fight where neither boxer was taken out of his game. It's no doubt frustrting to miss a combo like that, but being frustrated is not the same as having one's confidance shatered.

If you were a boxer and you thought you were doing ok then you hear the scorecards being read out in the middle of the fight and realise your losing obviously your confidence is gonna be gone

maybe I can just read a guys face better than you, but Trout looked like a man who was questioning his entire career when he threw combos that have landed on the likes of Miguel Cotto, yet this 22 year old was slipping them like they were nothing then coming back with a single punch that makes you do a chicken dance and puts you on your ass

mate he knew he was being beaten, all he had was workrate and even that wasn't working, because Canelo was slipping the shots easily, if Trout can admit it, then at least you guys can eh?

Maybe, I might have undignosed Aspergers. However what I saw was that both Alvarez and Trout were both able to stick to their games and make the nesscary adjustments, if there were any to make. Like I stated being frustrated is not the same thing as having your confidance shatered.

i thought Trout was VERY confident going into the fight. He really thought he was gunna win. The look on his face was "no worries, i got this"... and it changed after like the third... u could see in Trouts corner that things weren't panning out like he thought... and honestly, i never expected Canelo to slip so many punches.
