If Joe had just kicked Kesslers knee in round number 8 he would have stopped him no doubt about that. No doubt. But I am just sure that the dumb ass referee would have stopped him if he had tried that. Just look at how JOe was UNFAIRLY stopped by the referee, when JOe fairly and squarly tried to punch Mikkel in THE BACK OF HIS HEAD. I mean it is every mans right to do such a thing. Why did the dumbass referee arbitrarily stop JOe hitting MIkkel in the back head in the eigth round ? He had been allowed to do it all fight long up tilll the eigth round. He started doing it after appr. 35 seconds of the first round. Go back and check it out. LIfe is not fair:?
say what you will about Manny Steward and Max Kellerman these guys have seen alot of great fights and great fighters and they both said many times on that night that Calzaghe vs Kessler was very high level fight between 2 amazing fighters. In my opinion that was the fight of the year PS **** Kessler's promoter that guy is a ****** Kessler for turning away from the Miranda fight
I agree with 116-113, first round 10-10 As for JC-Bhop.. Bhop will not take a single round from JC. Neither would he against Kessler. JC UD, Kessler might TKO bhop, if not, 120-108 And **** off with the Miranda talk already you troll. Miranda has no business calling out Kessler. He hasn't faced and beaten a single top 10 guy in any division ever (well... eastman, technically was top 10, I grant you that). All he has is a loud moth PR-team and the help of an internet page (not saying which) that shamelessly posts his press releases on the front page like they are news. Kessler is, perhaps, fighting Mundine and in doing so, he faces a lot better competition than he would against Miranda. Both Kessler and Mundine would make Miranda look like the fool his mouth promises him to be. Let Miranda fight Bute and get his ass handed to him in Canada by a guy with enough boxing insight to proclaim "I'm not ready for Kessler, yet" See, what boxers know, what the experts know and what Europeans know is this: Kessler is a beast of a boxer. In defeating him, JC showed the world what an absolute mofo he is. Bhop has never, never never ever (not even RJJ) faced a better boxer then Kessler. Why do you all think the X has gone quiet all of a sudden? I'll tell you why! He has seen a couple of tapes and has finally realized what an absolute pile of shite he has gotten himself into this time. Bhop will be humiliated, jeff Lacy style and we will never hear from him again. Obviously, pops isn't too pleased with this, so he has started preparing himself. I say a transcrips from his lawyer the other day. Bernard has been busy writing his last will and testament
WOW, and as we ALL KNOW, having a belt is the BIGGEST indicator of a fighter's greatness...........asswipeatsch  :-(
You ****ing troll.............I KNOW the sport mother****er and you can't jam Mundine down my throat as a viable "elite" opponent when your aim is "supposed" to be making waves in the states....*******
I agree with bigtime skills that Mundine is not the "name opponent" that Kessler should crave atm. But as far as skills are concerned, Mundine brings a lot more to the ring than Miranda does, I'm sure most agree. Powerwise, nobody says anything about Mundine being the bigger puncher than Miranda. As for the belt, I also agree with BT skills. Who cares about the "regular" belt, when you've just lost the real one to Joe C? All this being said, I still believe that Mundine is the better fighter and will pose a bigger threat to Kessler, as compared to Miranda. Obviously, the Kessler camp care more for the belt than for US recognition - which would have been on the table, were Kessler to fight Miranda. I too must admit that I would have gone for Miranda, but when peeps on here start trashing Kessler for not fighting Pantera, because he is "scared" or lacking "heart" or having a secret glass chin and what not, I simply have to object. Fighting Mundine is much more dangerous than fighting Miranda. Also, being virtually unknown in the US, Mundine poses a serious risk/reward nightmare for Kessler as compared to Miranda who is a low risk/high reward fight. I don't get Team Palle in this decision, I must admit, but calling Mundine the easier fight is just not right.
Miranda is the much easier fight for Kessler IMO. Mundine can bring a lot more to the table and would outpoint Miranda. But as a fight fan I'm disappointed that Team Kessler has backed out from the Kessler-Miranda fight. Aside from the title, fighting Miranda would've meant much more. A fight in the US, an opponent better known in the US, US television Showtime and an easier but more exciting opponent. At the stage of Kessler's career, he just couldn't ask for more, but turning down the offer was a horrible mistake.
To me this fight is more impressive then the Jeff Lacy fight. I never seen Calzaghe use his jab like that or committ to body punching. That was a career night for Calzaghe im not sure how Hopkins can **** with that verisilty or workrate.
