Just watched calzaghe v hopkins again..

    Hopkins lost by at least 4 rounds. BHop was so dizzy from the fast slaps that he couldn't even find his corner between rounds. Freddie Roach thinks it was because of BHop's age, but Chris Eubank couldn't find his corner in his fight with Calzaghe either.

    Q: if Calzaghe slapped the whole fight and threw ineffective punches, why didn't Bernard simply knock him the **** out? I mean, what was stopping him?

    you can argue the other way round, if Cockins was just ****ing around lieing on the ropes all night , why didn't Slappy just Slap him out.

    Yawn. This topic has been dead longer than a corpse at the bottom of a canal. I believe Hopkins edged it by a point because I don't believe in awarding points just for walking forward and moving your arms around, which is all that Calzaghe achieved for long spells as he was actually landing very, very little cleanly. I can understand why someone would score the fight for Joe as it was a very close fight and he was the more active participant, but all in all I valued Hopkins's accuracy and ring generalship more.

    If you were making a highlight reel of that fight, there would only be two:

    Round One - Hopkins knocks Calzaghe flat on his arse with a beautiful inside right

    Round Seven - Hopkins lands a clean combination on Calzaghe that staggers him as the round ends

    End of reel. Dull fight where neither man performed very well, but Hopkins did the more effective work and sneaked it.

    No more posts from me on the subject, it's been done to death and is boring as ****.

    I had calzaghe...9-3 i love how bernard can land 2 effective punches in a rd to calzaghes 30 slaps landed and people say he wins the rd...calzaghe won the fight!

    Hopkins only won 2 round in my book. the first I has 9-9 due to the knock down but I had JC winning the round.
