Just watched Canelo Mosley

  1. Wow. Canelo beat Shane easier than Floyd. Granted; Shane is old as dirt. But damn.

Canelo took a step up and made it look easy. I noticed Canelo is patient, and he does counter well. Very well to be honest. His hand speed obviously shocked Shane, and I'm sure it'll shock Floyd.

As 9-14 comes closer I have a bad feeling for Floyd. What if Canelo comes in top shape?

****, canelos jab snapped Shanes head back numerous times.

Im the biggest fan Mayweather has...this fight is gonna be tough. hes going to have to dig deep because Canelo is very good. Much Respect for him taking the fight, Canelo is gonna bring it and not back down. yes hes gonna eat some punches but Mayweather will eat a few too and feel them.

Shane has always been vulnerable to decent jabs, and is far easier to hit flush than Floyd. I'm not saying that Canelo's jab can't or won't be a factor, but he tends to use it sporadically, and finding Floyd with it is much more difficult than tagging Shane with it.

In a recent interview, Nacho Beristain said that Void/Alvarez fight is 50/50!

As far as myself, I am not psychic like Teddy Atlas, who has never missed a prediction, such as Vitali Klitschko Vs. Kirk Johnson!

What did Atlas say about that one again? I've seen you mention this recently and asked about it, but I'm not sure if you saw my post.

Farmy, what did Atlas say about Vitali-Johnson?

Atlas said that Kirk Johnson would knock Vitali out with one punch! He said that on ESPN2. However, Atlas almost always picks against the Klitschkos, except for Povetkin. Wonder if he has changed his mind?

Atlas thinks if it goes to a decision Floyd will get shafted by the judges because people want Alvarez to be the new face of boxing and Goldenboy. Atlas also said having his father Floyd senior training him for this fight is a mistake because Floyd senior emphasizes defense and that while Floyd will deserve the verdict he gets shafted if it goes to points. The only way he say Floyd's win is if he Teddy Atlas not Floyd's Uncle Roger trains him for this fight because he Teddy Atlas is the best trainer in the world. In my view he is and idiot. Now Canelo is good and I watched his fight with Mosley as I was at the MGM Grand. However I could not help feeling that a 40 year old Mosley was past his best and had lost a few steps. Canelo was not able to stop him. I don't think frankly his performance was any better than Floyd's against Mosley. After this I watched Floyd against a motivated Cotto also at ring side and the truth is that Floyd is the better skilled fighter, better conditioned athlete, more stamina and better athletic ability. The great intangible is how does Canelo react when he gets hit consistently and often as he will be in this fight and how will his stamina hold up for a guy who has difficulty fighting 3 minutes a round. Canelo thinks he can outbox Floyd what if he cannot as better boxers than him have not been able to. I am not saying Canelo is not fast but speed and power don't phase Floyd

    Shane wAsnt even trying.

  9. I agree with what you have said. Canelo has an underrated defense. Underrated hand speed. I don't think he thinks he can out box Floyd. Nobody can.

Floyd doesn't fight 3 minutes either. That's PBF not Money May

Ive never had any indication that Saul thinks he can outbox Floyd.

There are too many variables in this fight. Speed (prime Floyd would take this, now I don't think so) weight; reach. Youth

  10. Yup. Explains it all.

Trust me Canelo thi ks he can outbox Floyd and has said so as has Oscar. They think they can establish the jab on him. What happens when Floyd takes away Alvarez's left hand(hook and jab)' Floyd hit him to the head and to the body. Speed does not affect Floyd as he has been in with very fast fighters even faster than Alvarez. A key point Floyd has made is that when things get tough he keeps fighting. What does Alvarez do? He has never been tested in this way. Alvarez is a good fighter but has never fought out of his comfort zone! In this fight he will get out of his comfort zone which is what I feel gets him knocked out.

Remember Nacho Beristain said the fight is 50/50..........

Mosley had Void out on his feet, then quit punching and this was in the early rounds! Who told Mosley to stop punching? He had Void out with a few more punches. Void did not know where he was! If Alvarez lands a punch like that I don't think he will suddenly quit punching. There is a rematch clause, by the way..........

Floyd will win a decision mainly because Canelo doesent have the workrate or stamina to keep up with floyd..

Then on the under card Matthysse will knock Danny out before the fifth round then go on to beat Mayweather in may

i don't think its that simple. shane will be in denial about it but i believe that he didn't have the stamina or the atheleticism to sustain a high frequency pace up at this age when he fought floyd. Being a fighter like roy jones, who relies on athleticism to win fights, it just makes you wonder how the fight would have gone had both men met in their prime.
