my mistake , Rosario got 600,000$ , d "hundred" somehow eluded me d 1st time i heard it . was it a bad amount of cash 4 such a fight ? i think it was not bad , especially considering it was more than 20 yrs ago and it was worth more than it does 2day .
It is worth mentioning that Rosario did not look like himself in this fight , since its beginning , and i think that Chavez did not have much 2 do with it .

Cayton and Jacobs were managing Rosario, I thought.
Don King promoted the fight, I think.

    I may be wrong.
Anyway, $6K sounds wrong to me. $60K sounds more like it. Maybe even $600K ...

Chavez had everything to do with it. Rosario needed room to throw his punches, and Chavez kept the fight up close, where he was the harder more effective puncher. Watch the fight. Rosario's feet are constantly too far apart to get his punches turned over at short range. As a result he is constantly beaten to the punch and, when he does land, he doesn't have his weight turned so the punch isn't as hard as it would be otherwise.

If that was Rosario at his best shape I guess he wouldn't have accomplished more than he did if he fought 2day . i couldn't find his 1st fight against Ramirez and neither 1 of his 2 fights against Randall but even in d Ramirez rematch he looked far more devastating . Maybe i should rewatch it , but Ramirez pressed him also but had 2 take lots of punishment 4 his trouble and Rosario was far ahead on points prior 2d stoppage in that 1 and if anything , it looked that Ramirez was d 1 goind 2b stopped .

A masterpiece of a fight for Chavez.

Chavez was just a level above Rosario.
This was JC at his absolute prime.

I think Chavez had everything to do with how Rosario looked in that fight. I would go as far to say it was Chavez's career best performance, it was a pressure fighting masterclass.

    Possibly Chavez' greatest ever performance.
