It is amazing that Cotto survived that second round. He was taking some bombs and stumbling all over the entire ring. Then it happened AGAIN in the 5th. Without a doubt Cotto has a china chin...but at the same time he has amazing recovery. I would love to see a rematch here if Torres gets by Holt and Cotto gets by Mosley. I know it will never happen though.

And people say that Torres isnt a finisher. He threw everything at Cotto in that second round but the kitchen sink. Bombs for all 3 minutes. And Cotto survived. And was even fighting back in the final minute. Cotto is a warrior. And Nosley's next.
Wouldn't say he's got a china chin, but I reckon the weight drain is a bit of an excuse. Everytime Judah caught him it visibly shook him,you seen the knees buckle a little. But he doesn't let it affect him mentally one bit, or alter his gameplan. He just sucks it up and gets on with it.
Cotto showed zero respect to Torres and payed for it...but no way Cotto has a china chin, if he did he wouldn't have survived those hands Torres put on him...
Just like you said.. He was taking some BOMBS so how could you say he has a china chin?? If he had a china chin he would of got stopped.. He only got knocke down once in his career and i believe it was a push by Torres. Dont get me wrong he was hurt but torres pushed him down and the ref called it a knock down.. Cotto killed himself to make weight. There are many fighters who weaken their ability to take a punch when they drop so much weight fight after fight, and Cotto is a perfect example. Now at 47, Cotto is a friggen powerhouse, and he has had no problems. His style creates a lot of openings for his opponents, so it was the best move he made to move up and be more solid on his feet.
I'd nominate this for stupidest post of the year. You say that he took bombs contiously yet we all know that Torres has to push him to get him down and that he survived to win by KO and yet you say without a doubt he has a china chin :rofl :rofl
Miguel Cotto has some of the best Recovery and best Focus out of any fighter that I've seen. This guy stays on track to his game plan no matter WHAT happens to him. His confidence and focus is unbelievable. Every fighter has a little flaw..Sure Cotto doesn't have a chin like Mayorga/Hopkins/Toney/Morales... But hey its like a blessing honestly because its getting him any fight he wants because people think they can knock him out. Put it this way..If Cotto had a rock iron chin wouldn't he be a favorite to anyone at 147lbs other than Floyd Mayweather and maybe Paul Williams? And if he did have a rock solid chin no one would fight him! I mean honestly NO ONE! To beat Cotto you gotta beat his ass and REALLY hurt him and I mean BEAT HIS ASS... seriously think that might be Mosleys only chance because Cotto is going to work him as harder than hes ever worked before. But if he beats mosley we are going to get even more stupidity running around boxing forums stating that Mosley was washed up old and a has been....sigh
I'm a cotto fan,but this fight is a mis-match and mosley will make cotto look real bad in ths,mosley is the type of counter-puncher that makes u think about rushing in on him,because everythink u think about doing he'll do it,but with greater handspeed.If cotto had fast hands,then maybe i would give him a chance,but the truth is cotto will get counter-punched all night long.Mosley throws hard bodyshot's also and i think cotto will take alot of punishment and by the 9th round cotto will be tired and it will be only a matter before mosley closes the show.
Cotto was drained (i.e. dehydrated) which reduces the brain's "padding" and taking bombs from one of the biggest punchers in the division.
Yea Torres had some success at various points in the fight as did Demarcus Corley and Zab Judah but ultimatelly it was Cotto laying out a beating on them like he did with all of his opponents and eventually knocking them out.
