I feel for the kid, but man, he puts on a pair of american flag trunks, fat and flab flyin all over the place, and quits because of a ruptured ear drum.

Watching our top heavy weights is a depressing affair. What has happened to american boxing? Where did the heart and work ethic to train hard go? Where did the talent go?

There is NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING. Maybe chris Ariol? Another fat and flab boxer with a short reach.

Its down right depressing. Its not that we ran out of the type of great heavyweights, its just that they are no longer boxing. They are playing football and basketball.

not a word on the winner?

if you focused on giving props to the winner instead of bitching about the loser maybe you wouldn't be so depressed

He was also fat and flab with no power. Not worth mentioning. He isnt going anywhere.

He did not quit. His corner stopped threw in the towel.

Baskeball players dont have HW builds. Neither do Football players

The problem is that America no longer has the HW prominence it once had and that most bigger guys that might have gone into boxing, in the last 25 years or so the HW seen hasnt had the profile to prompt them to aspire to be HW champion.

I dont buy into the "they went into other sports". They might be playing other sports, but I really dont feel that they are all out on the football field or on the court.

i thought it was hilarious how Johnson was talking about how he usually just uses his jab to score a few points here and there and stays out of harms way. sounds smart, but not what i wanted to hear before a FIGHT!!!! lol

    JM,

Very few of his fights have been on TV and they haven't really been of any significant before the Vargas bout. Against a few unbeaten prospect, he had to look impressive.
