Well, stranger things have happened than Yuri Foreman beating Cotto for one thing.

Cotto was a small welterweight and he'll be a very small 154lber. He'll be at a reach disadvantage and a height disadvantage. Foreman is definately boring, but this isn't a cakewalk for Cotto.

how is he a small welterweight? i thnk das more opinion,he was having trouble makiing 140 hes a perefect sized 147lb fighter,he will be at reach and height advantage but he has been plenty of times before, foreman is definitely boring and i dont think it will be a cakewalk for cotto neither, foreman doesnt fight toe to toe he moves around alot in and out but his punches r like slaps,i think cottos gunna b real agressive n pressure him

I agree. I don't understand why people say Cotto is small for welterweight. I thought he was the ideal size for that division. You can't compare him to guys like Margarito and Clottey. Those guys should be fighting at junior middleweight (I think that would be the ideal division for those guys).

I would frankly be shocked if Cotto pulled out the win. Foreman can box and moves constantly, combined with his decent hand speed and physical advantages, Cotto is gonna be in for a hell of a fight.

I think Foreman will have problems keeping Cotto from moving forward and pressing the exchanges.
Yuri has great movement and quick hands so I see him winning the early rounds but he doesn't have the power to make Cotto respect him.
If Foreman can box and move and avoid taking a lot of punishment for the first few rounds then he has to hope that Cotto begins to wear down and eases up on the pressure late in the fight, which would mean Foreman wins by UD.
If Cotto begins to wear down Foreman early with a good body attack then I think he catches him in the mid rounds and knocks him out.
I'm picking Foreman to win the fight as I believe Cotto will tire after 6 rounds and Foreman will continue to outbox him to the final bell.

Yeah, watch one fight of someone and determine they can't beat someone else. That's a GREAT way to analyze a fight.

Yuri has a five inch reach advantage. He has a good jab. He's probably a little quicker than Cotto. He's good at fighting moving backwards. He's good at jumping in and out while protecting his chin. He has good footwork and doesn't let guys back him into the ropes. He doesn't let himself get lured into brawls. When someone does manage to get inside on him (Anthony Thompson is the only one who has that I've seen), he clinches.

If Cotto can get inside early and hurt Foreman to the body, he has a good chance. But, as I've been saying since this fight was signed, Foreman's style is ALL WRONG for Cotto. And adding a trainer who will make Cotto emphasize the jab isn't going to help him any either.

From what i remember Foreman is very elusive, has fleet of foot and is taller and has a longer jab than Cotto. These factors make me see a tough nights work ahead for Miguel win or lose.
I think it hinges on wether Foreman's ability to run is greater than Cotto's ability to keep up with him. If Cotto can stay stepping on Foreman's toes, he will win a close decision.
