hum, I'm starting to think we didn't see the same castillo (whatever). I'll agree with the stamina question that was always a worry of mine and it still has yet to be answered. And the "ability to take punishment" question has never been answered. The one knock I have for ricky hatton is that to my knowledge you cannot say that he has ever been in a fight where he has sustained a significant amount of damage. nor has he been in a fight where he's had to take more punishment then his opponent to get the win. That's a bit unusual for a guy with his style. Or at least the questions that get answered in those kinda fights are the questions you'd want to know the answers too before making a final judgement on a guy like hatton.
watch his british title fight when he was young when he fought a much older guy (a man really ricky was barely a boy), the guy was called john thaxton, its not a world class fight, as ricky was still green as hell, but his face looked like rocky in rocky 1 after that fight. /Theo
That's exactly why I think it needs to be pointed out that Castillo looked like a shot fighter. The guy that fought Mayweather and the guy that fought Hatton are worlds apart. I think Hatton would have beaten the earlier version, too, but not in the same fashion. It's just a stupid comparison.
Its bollocks. Ricky buckled his knees in the first 20 seconds. People overlook it because over the pulldown. Hatton came out of the gates FAST and always looked stronger. Castillo does sometimes start slow then warm up. He clearly looked to be warming up in the third. Hatton even admitted this in the corner in between the rounds. In the end Castillo was caught with some horrid.
