It's difficult to give Pascal even two rounds past the fourth, and the behind-the-head knockdown was a bad call. All in all, unfair decision for Hopkins.

    I have round 1,2,3,5 and 8 for Pascal. With the 2 kd's, it's a DRAW. Good decision.

Happily it seems to be the consensus that Hopkins wasn't robbed. Cos he wasn't. It was close, and I had BHop edging it, but rounds 8 and 10 I thought could have gone either way. Given the obvious injustices around (Huck- Lebedev for example), we need to stop crying wolf over perfectly reasonable split decisions like this.

Pascal, the champion who was fighting in his back yard, was ****ing running from Hopkins in the entire second half of the fight. That speaks volumes! From rounds 4 onwards, Hopkins lost only one round in my book.

Even though I am from Philly, and completely bias, this fight was a joke. Really, Hopkins, did soooooo much more than Foreman did in his fight against Moorer, and didn't get the decision. It's such a shame.

Believe it or not, but Wlad K, got knocked down three times and still won his fight vs Peter. This really happened, Hopkins, waaayyy more prestigious, doesn't get this decision? I can't really believe it. He really beat up this kid bad, and embarrassed him. If I were Hopkins, I would retire. Seriously, does he think he can top his last performance? Maybe, but not likely. We all know who the oldest Champion is now, and he totally shattered the record because of the way he did it, without the luxury of sledgehammer power like Foreman.

Ok Pascal won 3 or 4 rounds right? thats 40 points

Hopkins won 8 by your book then so thats 80 points

now take away 2 points deducted from the knockdowns

so you had it 114-112 right? close fight aint it but pascal won the first 4 rounds or so and tbh i had him winning a round or 2 more after so that leaves the scores at 113-113 draw or 114-112 in pascals favour. the fight werent a robbery it was a close fight.

Werent you bell hops screaming that when a fighter gets knocked down and loses a few rounds then how can he win the fight when he lost to Calzaghe? I give bhop and A for effort but he was in someones backyard and came out with a draw ( the only judge scoring the fight for him was american suprise suprise)

Pascale with his low punch output, running tactics did not deserve the draw especially against a 45 year old boxing legend. I mean, Pascale was not even able to establish a left jab, he boxed without any rtyhm. I felt that Hopkins was the superior fighter, tactically and tecnically.

Hopkins won the 4th round and he won the 5th round even more decisively. Not sure how anyone can score the 5th round for Pascal unless they didn't watch the fight or they don't remember the round.

Another thing judges don't get to decide what is or is not a knockdown, that is the ref's job; in this case if the ref does not score it a knockdown and specifically rules something a slip then it is to be disregarded. If you want to score it a 10-8 round do it on the basis that Hopkins took significant punishment.

Good post. I had Hopkins eeking it out, but I cannot really quarrel with a draw. It is not as if Bernard dominated from the opening bell to the final horn.

I personally think Bernard was slighted. I wouldn't say robbed, but he deserved the win for sure.

however, the real robbery this weekend was Huck/Lebedev.

I was rooting for Hopkins, but I knew he wasn't going to after the two KD's. Just too hard to make up those points, especially on the champions home turf.

Now, I will say I thought the first KD was bull****, and caused by an illegal punch. They shouldn't have allowed it.

The second KD was a 10-9 round. Hopkins was looking good that round until the flash KD.

I gave Hopkins 6-11 easily, and also 12, but you have to assume the home town judge would give it to the local guy.

Either way, B-Hop was the more impressive fighter and I'd be surprised if Pascal wants to fight him again.

Robbed, **** NO. Two kd's an several close rounds, they could of gave the fight to pascal by one round an it would of been fair....But, it was a great job on hopkins part, an i would favor him in the rematch, Pascal needs some road work, he looked as winded as hopkins against calzaghe.
