Yes, I think that's right! I feel he has always lacked the required self-belief to go the extra mile...

I remember that fight very well. The crowd was split but most wanted Rob Reid to win. We all thought there would be a rematch. But Calzaghe was better and he deserved the win. The referee that gave it to Reid was biased, but so were the other referees - the margin wasn't that wide, from what I saw and remember, anyway.

Decebal the reason that Calzaghe has a go at Reid so often in his biography is because of 2 things.

    A. Reid got picked to go to the Olympics over Calzaghe, unofficial reason is because he is english and jc is welsh.

    B. When Reid was WBC champion he didnt want to know JC. He wouldnt give him a shot and didnt want to unify. Then as soon as he loses his belt he wants to fight JC.

To each their own opinion. :good

Reid did deserve the win in the Ottke fight (a fight which forever tainted Sven's legacy) but both looked pretty shopworn and definitely past their best years.

He was decisioned by Branco in a close fight, which imo was pretty bad if you're a world champ, and you remember Hacine Cherifi don't you? Not to mention his plethora of other close fights. Anyway, I digress...
