Well if Duva would just do the purse bid we wouldn't have to watch these fights would we.

Also don't make it sound like there's tonnes of guys for Stevenson to fight.

Plenty of top LHWs are with promoters that don't exactly like Haymon.

Stevenson holds 2 lucrative belts and the man behind him is a powerful boxing figure with cash to spend.
He COULD have picked a better opponent, he chose not to.

    If you say so.
Kova had a belt and a large network behind him when they found Cedric Agnew walking down the street somewhere too.

Long story short. Uf Duva allows the purse bids, then we all get to see the biggest fight at LHW

after which he took on 2 top 5 LHW's in B-Hop and Pascal, Stevenson, the so-called Lineal LHW champion hasn't fought anyone from the top 10 since he beat Fonfara 3 fights ago

Despite the FACT that this "event" is a farce-WTF is this nonsense of placing the fight in Toronto,of all places.Toronto is NOT a hotbed of pro boxing and Stevenson has obviously worn out his welcome in Montreal.Haymon sure enjoys tossing his money into the garbage bin.:nut

the fact that cleverly has beaten all these guys before he got destroyed by kovalev, shows he was a decent win. top 5-10 lhw before he stupidly went up to cruiserweight.

I just watched Karpency vs. Fonfara ... and it was a very good fight.

With the exception of the second round, when Karpency went down, he was in it all the way. In fact, in the last round, Karpency was whipping Fonfara all around the ring. Then Fonfara, grabbed him in a headlock and threw Karpency to the floor, where he reportedly injured his shoulder.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4EeaC3fMGk

Fonfara even tried to go after Karpency when it looked like they might go to the cards ... fearing he might be behind on them.

But they gave Fonfara a TKO - for hurling Karpency to the floor, apparently.

Based on this fight and his fight with Dawson, I'd say Karpency is about the same as all the other light heavyweight challengers - just below Stevenson, Kovalev and Beterbiev.

Those guys are the big three. Everyone else is a little lower. (And Stevenson might be edging closer to that lower level himself.)

He'd be fighting Kovalev if Duva was willing to let the fight go to purse bid

Hi is a bum. Both Mohammedi and Caparello would beat him. Dawson was injured early and fought with one hand, basically jabs only.

where Kova would have gotten 25%? it should of been 50/50, but whatever, I was a little disappointed that Duva walked out of the purse bid, because Kovalev today would of been making the millions despite making peanuts (in comparison) to Stevenson if they had fought

I'm not one to defend cst, but he's actually one of the more critical and cautionary guys on GGG

Karpency might be one of the worst cherry picks that I can remember. Just a shockingly bad voluntary, downright shameful. Karpency is going into the lineal lhw championship fight coming off a tough 8 round victory over a guy with a terrible losng record, something like 23-27. This fight is essentially everything that's wrong with boxing

If it goes to purse there'll be more money for the fighters, due to competition.

Also, Michel said this week they have no problem with 50/50, but that it should go to purse bids

well then we should sit back and hope Duva doesn't walk out next time :yep

btw, I hope the rumors about Duva sending GYM an offer to fight Beterbiev are true, another highly anticipated fight, albeit a bit too soon for Artur

Who's defending anyone, I just said he's not a bum. Mohammedi was a bum, he couldn't even hold his hands up right. Karpency lost to Murat, Cleverly, and Fonfara, three guys who've had multiple title fights between them. Two by decision and was even with Fonfara when the he got stopped.
