Wow. There are some serious drama queens who post here. From all I read this morning it was almost like Chilemba was robbed or something. Rds 4,5,9 and 11 went to Chilemba. That's about it. Christ, Robert Guerrero took 3 rounds off Floyd and he still went on to convincingly beat Pacquiao. Yes Kovalev missed a lot of shots, but he was never hurt, dictated the fight, did the most damage (The body shot that set up the KD was nice) Not a great win, but convincing. You also have to wonder if the scene (being where he basically legally murdered someone) may have played a small part, but he did look lethargic. I still give an edge to Kovalev vs Ward 60- or 55-45)
What? I didnt see any posts saying that Chilemba got robbed. They just were saying that Kovalev looked bad.
I was being sarcastic. I said "almost like". It's just funny how quick people turn on fighters. Ward was better against Barrera, but he didn't look sharp in that fight either.
He's not used to hearing crowds cheer for him, he likes boos they motivate him. He was clearly distracted and somewhat disinterested and was underprepared. He was at the site of probably the biggest trauma he's experienced his life. He was supposedly under the weather, heard rumors of a hand injury. He was fighting another Main Events fighter, he probably didn't want to annihilate one of Kathy's fighters. He clearly wanted to get rounds in against a crafty fighter to prepare him for Ward. And He probably wanted to avoid getting injured or ut to jeopardize the big fight. And he still managed to win 10-2 or 9-3 dropped Chilemba, and have him out on his feet 3 times. But some of the drama queens on here acted like Kovalev was on the verge of being KO'd and getting schooled.atsch
The real reason behind this is simple. People are getting scared that the Ward/Kovalev fight is coming closer. If you asked people a year ago who would win, 99% of these posters that are criticizing Kovalev now woudl say Kovalev DESTROYS ward. They dont want to give Ward any credit if he beats Kovalev. I dont consider you a little g fan girl. And of course there are some posters who are sticking to their guy, but are you going to deny that there is a huge portion of little g fan girls that are turning on Kovalev already? I predicted this would happen.
Can we PLEASE not talk about Golovkins legion of nut guzzlers in one thread? You do have a point though. I don't even read the threads...why bother. I like watching GGG's fights, but to see his latest move as anything but a b**ch move is crazy to me.
I like watching GGG too, and he seems like a good respectful guy. But his fanbase is just way out of hand. Like honestly I've never seen a fanbase like this in any sport. Floyd fans and pacfans had awful people too, but a lot of these people were casual fans that dont really watch boxing. The scary thing about GGG fans is that most of these people are hardcores. Sometimes I think that some of these people posing as GGG fans are really anti ggg and are just trying to get people to dislike him, and it's clearly working.
I would like to propose a petition that, should Ward KO Kovalev (Yes people, it is a real risk, despite what Wards KO record is) or even win convincingly, that all threads discrediting Wards win be deleted as garbage and ban the thread starter. The winner of this fight deserves BIG UPS.
The winner of this fight will get full credit from me, no matter who it is. Will have an excellent claim on P4P #1.
Unfortunately most posters on this site won't give Ward credit. Most people will give Kovalev credit however. It's simple Kovalev is not really hated, but Ward is because of GGG. If Ward wins, GGG fans will be saying how he beat GGG's sparring partner etc.
