Just watched Lara-Warrington

We will just have to disagree. This fight is nothing compared to other fights that should have been stopped.

 

I don’t necessarily disagree because Warrington’s dad in particular has a duty of care towards his fighter and should have pulled him out. But if it becomes standard for a ref to stop a fight like that before the ninth and that becomes the norm, we get robbed of some legendary fights past and future. Warrington was clearly seriously concussed but was still fighting back. If Warrington somehow lands a KD punch and wins it goes down as one of the greatest comeback wins in British boxing history.

 

Actually having watched it back today, it's not quite as bad as I thought it was watching live. He was all over the place however and I don't think he recovered well enough between rounds.
