I don't know how you could give the 6th round to Maidana. That seemed like a clear cut Mayweather round to myself. He landed the more effective and clear shots that round.

And the last 2 rounds I also gave to Mayweather. I GUESS you can make a case that maidana might've won 1 of those rounds, but definitely not both of them.

Maidana had the much better body work from rounds 1-5. Almost all of Mayweather's shots on Maidana was upstairs during that same period. After about round 5, it was a pretty solid performance overall from Floyd.

By round 6, Mayweather was keeping Maidana in the center of the ring a lot more than in the first half of the fight. Aside from giving Maidana round 8 (which I thought was another close round,) I didn't see Marcos win any other round from 6-12.

I don't care if Maidana hit FLoyd a million times to the back of his head or gave him several low blows. I'm only scoring what looked to be the more effective punching by one man compared to another guy who was throwing 6-8 shots per flurry and probably landing only 1-2 of them at most. The statistics were very telling as far as percentage landed.

It wasn't a schooling by any means, but I had the fight 8-4 and that was me giving Maidana rounds 4 and 8 which I thought were very close rounds. You can make a case for 9-3 or 7-5, I wouldn't have a problem with either of those either.

But let's be real, almost always the champion in the fight will get the close rounds. That's the way it's been for as long as I can remember, so if a round seems almost too close to score, the rule of thumb is the champion will get the nod on the razor-close rounds.

I've watched it twice; scored it both times for Maidana.

I gave Maidana five of the first six plus rounds 8 and 12; 115-113 Maidana.

Its a gift and a curse for floyd to be so good soon as mayweather in a pacquiao type fight haters say he either lost or they say mayweather overrated :rofl

I got Maidana at 7-5 but I woudnt complain for 6-6 draw. Can't see how Mayweather won that fight.

 

I scored it for Maidana also and I was rooting for Floyd. I think Marcos dictated the action, the style of fight that was fought, and landed just as many decent shots as Mayweather.

 

I still can't find a way to give this fight to Maidana.
And I have already been very very generous to MM with the swing rounds.
I formerly said that a draw is the best you can give in favor or Marcos, but after watching the fight over and again, it's still a clear 8-4 or 7-5 win for me in favor of FMJ.
I think people misunderstand what "effective aggression" really is.
